Men Shouldn't Wear Capris

This weekend began friday night with dinner at Barley's with Aunt Darty and Uncle Dave.  I was a little fussy so dad took me for a quick walk outside but the patio was packed with smokers so we got back inside in a hurry.  Mom and Dad were remembering the good old days where you had to walk out of a bar to get away from the smoke whereas we had to go into the bar to get away from the smoke.

On Saturday Mom and Dad worked on my baby announcements while we watched the French Open.  In honor of the open, I wore my Adidas tennis dress that Aunt Darty got me (note the stupid bloomers.)  I looked very cute if I do say so myself.  Later that night, Mom and Dad ditched me to go to the Ben Folds concert and I spent the night with my sisters (Penny turned 2!) at G&G D's house.  Those suckers must really love me to put up with poopy diapers and early mornings when they don't have to.

Sunday has been pretty chill.  I helped Dad with the dishes, did some tummy time and have been wearing out the batteries on my swing.  Mom and Dad's stupid fake TiVo (Faux-Vo as they call it) crashed hard so we've made it a movie night.

Perhaps the best part of the weekend was watching Rafa Nadal lose at the French on Sunday.  Mom and Dad don't like him so neither do I!  At least he's not wearing those capris any more; those were awful.  Nadal losing sure opens the door for the rest of the field - GO ANDY RODDICK!

Faux Could Be Fabulous

Tell me something, how can I be 8 weeks old and already have what I believe are common sense ideas on changes to some traditional baby clothes.  For instance, why do shirts not have snaps so they connect to the pants?  When I wear a regular shirt or skirt, every time I get picked up my shirt/skirt rides up.  For an admittedly modest girl, this is not ideal.  Why can't my shirt just snap to my pants?  Problem solved.

Also, why are there buttons (that slip through a slit in the cloth) on any baby clothes??  Especially if the buttons are on the back.  Good luck to any parent (my Dad's the worst) trying to hold the baby up while undoing those buttons.  I understand that buttons look nicer than snaps but why can't I just have a faux button on top of a snap.  Problem solved.

And don't get me started on those little diaper covering fake underwear/bloomers.  What a pain in the ass those are.  What's the point?  What's the difference between seeing that and seeing my diaper.  I'm not a cheerleader for crying out loud.  I know, I'm modest but if you're gonna put pants on me, make 'em pants, not just more underwear!  I guess it would be different if my skirt would snap to the bloomers but see above for that rant.

Give me a Kimono style onesie so it doesn't have to go over my head (I hate that) and I'm all good.  If it ain't broke, don't fix it.  Btw, did you know that "onesies" is a registered trademark of Gerber?  Congratulations, you've learned something new today.

Never Wake a Sleeping Baby!

I just found out that Dad took a video of me (w/o my permission, btw) of him waking me up for a midnight feeding.  Hello, doesn't he know you never wake a sleeping baby?  Duh!  I guess it's only fair because if he didn't wake me up at midnight I probably would have woken him up at 2:00am.  Is it woken?  That doesn't sound right.  Anyway, this video may be a repeat for some (at time of post, 39 views on you tube.  Take that Evolution of Dance!) but it won't kill you to watch it again.

I told dad that we should posts as many videos of me as possible here so stay on the look out.

The Plaza (pronounced Pliza)

Mom doesn't have to go back to work until the end of June so between Dad taking me to lunch several times a week and trying to keep up with mom's social schedule (with Grandma Herbert and Aunt Abby, of course) I am a very busy girl.

After the cleaning people left (yea, clean house!) Mom took me over to Grandma Herberts so we could go to the Plaza with Linda Baker.  We started out at CPK for lunch then proceeded on a whirl wind of delicious shoping.  First was the Coach store where I saw the cutest little bag but since my grasp still needs a little work I decided to hold off.  Next was Tiffany (not Tiffany's; an oft mistake) where G Herbert was in the market for a new "Avery" charm to go along with her "Jamie" charm.  After that we were off to Pottery Barn Kids where I looked at a little wooden walk and pull caterpillar but then remembered that I can't walk...yet.  The last stop was William Sonoma but their kids section stinks so I didn't have much fun there.

After we got home I took a nice long nap in my swing and have been chilling in my playplace typing this blog.
Well, Mom and Dad just started watching Ocean's Eleven ("Fellas! Fellas! Check this... all... red!") and I have a wet diaper so I'm off.

Busy Weekend

Whoa, what a busy weekend. I think I spent more time in my car seat than in my bedroom but I had a lot of fun. On Friday we went over to Grandma & Grandpa Herberts so I could meet my Uncle Charlie, Aunt Eva and cousin Jamie who few in from California for the weekend. They cooked out while I chilled inside.

On Saturday, we stopped over at the Herbert's after lunch so Jamie and I could play some more. He walks a lot better than I do but we still had a lot of fun. For Dinner, we met Grandma & Grandpa D at J. Alexanders and I went back to G&G D's so Mom and Dad could meet Uncle Charlie and Aunt Eva at the movies. I heard them say Star Trek was sold out so they had drinks instead. Nerds.

More action Sunday! We had Brunch at G&G Herbert's (waffles look delicious) then went home for a quick nap before going back over in the afternoon. G&G Herbert had friends in town so I met a BUNCH of new people. Let's see, I met Jim and Linda Baker, Jim's dad Bake and his wife Sue, Jim and Linda's three kids, Steve, Scott, Jennifer and her daughter Ella. Ella's cousins Madison, Riley and Jackson. Oh, Wayne and Tina Wilke were also there. HOLY COW! Highlight: Sue running around the back yard with all the kids (myself excluded of course.) That woman can move!

Monday was a littler lower key but not much. We ran out to Babies R Us and bought what looked like a thousand diapers and some other junk including a "tummy time" boppy which mom and dad have already made me use a few times. I HATE TUMMY TIME! Later we went over to Aunt Darty and Uncle Dave's for another bbq (I went with a bottle) with G&G D and the Irvines. I can't wait to meet a little Irvine this winter! Around eight I told mom and dad that I was tired and READY TO GO HOME! So we did.
