After Mom picked me up, we went home and saw Dad for just a minute before he left to play cards. That's okay though, that just meant Mom and I had a girls night. And there were a lot of girls too. We actually met several of Mom's friends at Spin for book club. The book we discussed was The Fig Eater by Jody Shields. The book "casts a stabbing, furtive light on Vienna at the time of la belle époque. Like the sweep of an electric torch probing a darkened room, Judy's descriptive prose illuminates the often disquieting nooks and crannies behind the façade of turn-of-the-century Viennese civility." While the same cannot be said of Moo, Baa, La La La I still thought it the more entertaining read. (Notice the reviewer referred to the author as Judy rather than Jody. Oops!)
After school, Mom, Dad and I ran a few errands including a trip to the post office so Mom could mail out a Paper Mill Designs job. How cute are these? They're letterpressed and there were three different items: an address book, a note book and note cards. Fun right?
Well, it's been a pretty relaxing couple of days so bring on the weekend!
Until Later,
Avery
