Dance Puppets, Dance!

Anytime Disney wants to make an extra buck, which from what I can tell is all the time, they release something that was previously "locked in the vault." If it works for Disney, why can't it work for me? Here's a previously unreleased video from Christmas day. My favorite part is when I get mad at Aunt Abby for not letting me open my present and start a random round of Paddy Cake. And of course, every one stops what they're doing and starts clapping too.

Okay, so I've released something from the vault so.... how do I make money like Disney? Um, I guess you should go ahead and mail me a quarter (recommended donation) each time you view it. Sweet.

I know I have a lot more to blog about but I'm SO tired from playing with all of my new toys that I need to sleep now.

Yuletide Plog

Despite the weather on Christmas Eve, Mom & Dad packed up my sisters and me and we headed over to Grandma & Grandpa Davenport's for dinner with Aunt Darty, Uncle Dave, Aunt Abby, Uncle Scoot [sic] and Grandma & Grandpa Herbert. AWESOME!

Shortly after we got there, M&D got to open an early present and unfortunately for my young eyes, it was a camera with a red-eye flash that can light the night sky. What this means for you is another PLOG!

Once again, everyone got delicious dinner and I got... a bottle. M&D didn't even try to fake me out with "Beef" and "Sweet Potatoes."

The Herbert's played Pass the Baby so they could all see my cute outfit. How fun is my furry collar?

My inagural innagural inogural inagurall (finally gave up) inaugural voyage in G&G D's new high chair.

AD had me standing on the table dancing. I guess the table cloth will have to be washed now... oh, also because Mom spilled a glass of wine on it!

If my expression doesn't convey how much fun I was having, check out the video on YouTube.

GmaH is slightly more excited about this hat than I am.

I got this cute little Piano Prodigy ornament. Prodigy huh? I think a discussion on expectations may be in order...

Wait, who's first Christmas is this anyway?

GmaH teaching me some classic carols. Oh no, where's my crown???

Ready for round two?

Talk to the Moose... Moose... ah ah a Moose.

YEA RIBBON! Santa was listening....

I already can't find anything in it!

After my nap, I finally got to start playing with my round two toys. Sweet!

My first Christmas Day Chinese Dinner and I was almost able to grab a plate out of the waitress's hand. So close!

Talk to the Moose!

I was in for a fun surprise today because despite what I wrote yesterday, the big kids at Miss Anne's did NOT have school today. Sweet! I set out to rip the SMSD and its calendar today but after double checking, it turns out I may have just misread the calendar. Whatever, why would they have school on JUST Monday? Ending the semester on a Monday makes about as much sense as starting the semester on a Thursday. Where's the fable? Regardless, it was a nice surprise and I had SO much fun!

Dad picked me up early from MA's so he could take me to allergy shots with Aunt Darty. Janelle, one of the nurses, has been bugging and bugging and bugging Dad to bring me in so we could meet. Dad finally got tired of the endless nagging a little over a month ago and brought me in. Naturally, Janelle was out sick that day so Dad didn't get credit for the visit. SO, as an early Christmas present, Dad brought me in for another visit and this time Janelle WAS there. She is very nice and promised to introduce me to her new grand daughter so we can be friends. Sweet!

After Dad and I got home, we chilled for about the blink of an eye then headed back out with Mom. We made a few random stops before reaching our target destination: The Bass Pro Shop! I know you're thinking, "of course, the Davenport's love fishing and the outdoors in general," and thus are not surprised by this trip. However, this trip was made with one thing in mind: SANTA! Apparently Santa keeps hours at BPS so kids such as myself can make gift requests.

Somehow, we were not the only people with this idea because the line was quite long. Along the way we were able to entertain ourselves by browsing some of the products on the nearby displays. One such item was this stuffed moose which I thought was pretty cute until I realized it was missing a body and was being sold as a stuffed moose trophy head! Yikes!

This may shock some of you but the BPS is a fantastic place for people watching. I'll share my favorite example though it was difficult to narrow it down. BPS hands out what they call a "Santa Photo Bass Pass" which supposedly allows you shop without loosing your place in line. Well, upon receipt of said Bass Pass, I overheard one Mom ask her four kids if they wanted to "go look at guns." If you didn't read that in an uneducated redneck hick voice, go back and try again. Perfect!

After about a half hour, I finally got my opportunity to sit on Santa's lap. If you've held me any time in the last few months, you know I love to grab people's faces and any long hair I can get my hands on. Santa? JACKPOT!

After Santa we stopped by Ruby Tuesday's so M&D could have some dinner. I was a pretty good girl but eventually got bored and was able to talk Mom into playing Peek-a-boo with me.

So, Sunday was pretty awesome. After some morning playing and more importantly a morning nap, Mom, Dad and I headed to Babies R Us... five days before Christmas. Seriously. BRU is coco-bananas on an average day and a weekend day is worse still but a weekend day right before Christmas - YIKES!

Somehow BRU wasn't as crazy as I was fearing. I assume that everyone else thought it would be crazy too so they just avoided it all together. Of course, my parents are not those people. That aside, I think this was probably the best BRU trip ever because everything that went into our cart was a TOY! AHHHH! It was pretty clear that Mom and Dad have never Christmas shopped for a kid before because they showed me everything they picked out. Awesome! However, as I mentioned the other day, I have the attention span of a sixth month old and don't remember any specifics. Hey, what's that shiny object? Anyway, it's all good because this way everything will be a surprise on Christmas morning. Also, I'm just interested in the wrapping so who cares what's underneath.

Today was no Sunday but it was still pretty cool. I was totally expecting Miss Anne's kids to be off school this week which had me VERY excited. The big kids are SO much fun. But no, the SMSD must hate me because it's making the big kids go to school the 21st & 22nd. Where's the fable?!?!

After school, there was no rest for the weary because M&D and I headed over to Grandma & Grandpa Herbert's for dinner with Grandma & Grandpa Davenport. What the wha? Two pair of grandparents? RAISE! After dinner we headed to a concert to see The Kansas City Brass - a six-member ensemble comprised of Kansas City Symphony performers. And..... I pretty much loved it. Dad snuck the camera in and captured my response to one of the early numbers. As you've recently found out, I love to dance and even though the selected song is a bit slower than I'm used to to, I still rocked it. Enjoy (all three minutes!)

Cluster Nut

Dad left town Wednesday morning so it was just us girls at home.... until Wednesday night when Mom ditched us to go to opening night of The Nutcracker. That was okay with me though because that meant I got to go play with Aunt Darty and Grandpa Davenport. I had SO much fun playing with them in my bouncy chair (to be clear, I was the only one in my bouncy chair, they were sitting in regular chairs.) AD & GpaD had me laughing so hard I practically wet myself. Fortunately I had taken the proper protective measures for just such an event!

On Thursday, Mom and I read a few books and played FORT! I'm sure we did some other things too but I'll be honest, I have the attention span of a six month old and can't remember much else.

It's my understanding that Dad came home on Friday but I must have gone to bed already because I didn't see him until Saturday morning. Had I known Dad was home, I probably would have woken up a lot earlier but as it was, I slept until after 8:00. And Dad and I did so much playing after my bottle, that I was worn out by 10:00. So worn out that I took a three hour nap! After I woke up, Dad and I did some playing with Mom but then she left for a cookie exchange party. What the wha? Cookie exchange? I "got" to help Mom make nutclusters Friday night but didn't get to go to the cookie party? It's just like last week where I "got" to help make and decorate cookies and didn't get to enjoy them. Where's the fable?

Since Mom ditched Dad and I, we decided to meet G&G D, AD & Uncle Dave at PF Changs for an early dinner. I sat in my high chair for a little while but then decided it would probably be more fun to get fussy so everyone would feel obligated to hold me. Like shootin' fish in a barrel. I got passed around pretty successfully but ended with Dad. Here are some pics.

I have more to cover from this weekend but I'm crazy tired so it will have to wait.
