DIR! (Decade in Review)

Since it's the end of the year AND the end of the decade, it seems like every one is putting out top ten lists, reviewing the year and even reviewing the decade. Well, not to be out done, I thought I'd try my hand at it as well.

(This is largely hearsay as I did not see most of it first hand)

May 2000 - Mom and Dad graduate from Kansas State University as FRIENDS
June 2000 - Mom moves to Chicago to work for Adroc (Job 1) and Dad moves to Denver to work for Level 3
March 2001 - Dad survives the first of dozens and dozens of layoffs
September 2001 - Mom moves back to Kansas City to work for CAM Inc (Job 2; Dad is still at Level 3)
December 2001 - M&D officially start "dating" thus beginning countless trips to and from Denver
September 2002 - Mom starts working for the Kansas City Ballet (Job 3; Dad is still at Level 3)
September 2003 - Mom quits her job and moves to Denver to work for Knowledge Learning Corporation (Job 4; Dad is still at Level 3)
June 2004 - M&D get engaged
July 2004 - M&D visit Uncle Stearns in San Diego and temporarily lose Mom's engagement ring in the SAND
December 2004 - Parker Posey becomes daughter number one
May 2005 - Mom gets laid off from KLC and starts a sabatical (Dad is still at Level 3)
August 2005 - M&D move back to Kansas City
October 2005 - M&D get married and survive Hurricane Honeymoon
January 2006 - Mom starts working for JP Morgan (Job 5; Dad is still at Level 3)
October 2006 - Mom launches Paper Mill Designs (Job 6?)
May 2006 - M&D purchase Coke Castle
January 2007 - M&D take a second stab at Hurricane Honeymoon sans the hurricane
July 2007 - Penny Lane becomes daughter number two
March 2008 - Paper Mill Designs becomes a Letterpress Studio
July 2008 - M&D find out that daughter number three (your's truly) is baking
April 2009 - Daughter number three joins the outside world
May 2009 - I start blogging; use your free time and start from the beginning

Okay, so that's the decade in review but I probably need a top ten list too right? Here are my Top Ten Songs of 2009. These weren't necessarily songs released this year or even this decade or century but they were my faves:

10. (8 way tie) Music Cube Collection - Mozart
9. (2 way tie) Patty Cake/Trot Trot to Boston - Mother Goose?
8. Twinkle, Twinkle - Jane Taylor (lyrics) & Mozart (music)
7. Prettiest Girl in the Whole World - Weezer
6. Live Your Life - T.I.
5. Boom Boom Pow - Black Eyed Peas
4. Drunken Lullabies - Flogging Molly
3. Gracie - Ben Folds
2. I Gotta Feeling - Black Eyed Peas
1. Gap Sweater Song - The Gap

Remember, you can't take it with you, but you can lick it so no one else can take it when you're gone.

Until Later,
