Two Steps Forward, Two Steps Back

Mom & Dad were bummed on the fourth because they had to go back to work but for me it meant I got to back to Miss Anne's. YEA! The big kids were back at school but thanks to snow and "dangerously cold temperatures" that wouldn't last for long. Oops, I'm jumping ahead of myself.

On Monday night Aunt Abby & Uncle Scoot [sic] came over to look at wedding stationary (look at me already picking up the lingo; I'll be runnin' that business in no time!) I was pretty eager to show AA & US how I can stand while playing at my Learn & Groove. I'll be honest, I was doing a pretty awesome job at both learning and grooving. Unfortunately, I was doing a less awesome job at standing. Dad had me in front of him, leaning against the couch with one of his legs on either side of me and the L&G in front of me. There wasn't a whole lot of extra space but that didn't stop me from taking a header on the L&G. It's safe to say that I was not happy. Fortunately AA was there to "sing and make me feel all better." That parts in quotes because after asking if I was going to blog about my header, she said I should write that her singing made me stop crying. I'm not kidding. Shameless.

A little later I did some playing with Mom. She had something that wasn't a toy attached to her sweatshirt so needless to say I LOVED it.

The fifth was spent just chillin'. I would like to point out that I was wearing one of my new pairs of sweat pants (or "work pants" for Dad.) I found it VERY easy see the appeal and am pretty psyched that I have several different pairs, especially when the high temps are in the single and/or negative digits. BRRR!

On the sixth, I was supposed to go over and play with Grandma & Grandpa Herbert while M&D went and played tennis. Obviously tennis would be indoors but for some reason the snow still prevented them from playing and thus me from seeing G&G H. BOOO! Instead I stayed home and played pat-a-cake and made some calls.

Today was pretty awesome. Over the last few days I've been seriously flirting with the prospect of crawling FORWARD! I've been pretty adept at crawling backwards for awhile now but today I officially moved in the other direction. Right after Dad stopped working, I crawled across my K-State blanket to play with one of Mom's shoes. Dad was so excited that he broke out the video camera and tripod and set me on the other side of the blanket, baiting me to do it again. I think he took about 30 minutes of video trying to catch me in the act. It's like he doesn't even know me. OBVIOUSLY I wasn't gonna do it again. Silly Dad.

So, no video of me crawling but if you're willing to forfeit three and a half minutes of your life, here's the Paula Abdul video to go along with the post title. Consider yourself warned.

Remember, you can't take it with you, but you can lick it so no one else can take it when you're gone.

Until Later,
