On Thursday, Mom & Dad got a new camera to replace the one Dad lost en route to NYC. The first day they had it, Dad took over 100 pictures (YIKES!) and I happened to be in a couple. Here are some highlights.

Mom had to work late and then had a client meeting so Dad picked me up from Miss Anne's and as a special treat we headed over to visit with Grandma & Grandpa Davenport.

Oops, I seem to have gotten a little distracted shortly after I left base camp. Don't worry, I still made the summit!

My play date had to end a little early because GmaD had a dinner party to go to. But, as an added surprise to the evening I got to see Great Aunt Nancy because GAN dropped by to give GmaD a lift. Sweet!

GmaD may have ditched us but that didn't mean the fun was over. GpaD already had plans to have dinner with Uncle Dave and asked if Dad and I wanted to tag along. I'm always worried that I'll miss the retelling of a barn burning story from UD so I twisted Dad's arm to let us go. Don't feel bad that you didn't get to attend, I'm sure at some point UD will retell all the stories we heard!

I still have a few more pics from Thursday, let alone all weekend but I'm exhausted and need to hit the hay.

I Scream for Ice Cream

On Tuesday evening Grandpa Davenport came over to help Dad with a little project. I took the opportunity to sneak in a few kisses while he was here. I love you GpaD!

So my sisters, Parker and Penny, aren't allowed to have people food because M&D don't want them to become beggers beggars. I must say, this is a good policy because since they've started feeding me people food, I'm a total beggar. Anytime they bring food near me, I sit right in front of them and whine until they give me some. And it works like a charm!

In general, I try to be pretty well behaved but I seriously do not like getting my nails cut. It doesn't hurt or anything, I just don't get to see the nail clipper very much so it always piques my curiosity. Recently Dad has tried bargaining with me (against every fiber in his being, I'm sure) by letting me "play" with the clipper if I let him cut a few nails. It's win-win... unless I decided not to keep it!

Make it Rain...Muffins

Seriously, it's only been TWO days since my last post and despite having the old cra-pay camera, I have a lot of pictures to get through. Here are a few from Monday:

While I stayed with Grandma & Grandpa Herbert, GmaH made some blueberry bran muffins (who doesn't love fiber?) and I enjoyed them so much that she sent some home with us on Saturday. What GmaH failed to tell Mom & Dad is what a MESS I make while eating said muffins. I can't believe that after the mess on Monday that Dad let me have the last ones today. Sucker. Also, did you know that if you yank on your bib, any crumbs on it will go flying? I didn't either but I do now! In fact, I think Penny loves that game as much if not more than I do!

Monday evening Dad tried to do some reading and when I saw it was about lions, I decided to check it out. I mean, I have lots of books about animals (bears, ladybugs, monkeys, frogs, hippos, cows, sheep, pigs, dogs, geese, alligators, caterpillars, spiders, etc, etc, etc) so this one should be right up my alley. Except this one isn't about lions at all. Dad rattled off something about Old Hickory and the twenty dollar bill. Whatever. I don't care if it did win a pulitzer, you will not see this book on my Shelfari!

Remember this pic? Laughable right? Now THIS is more like it!

Aunt Abby came over last night to talk with Mom about some wedding stuff and while she was here she wasn't shy about pushing her agenda to get me walking by her wedding. I'm not quite there yet but AA at least got me standing without any support... for a few seconds anyway.

Bonus question: How many Cookie Monsters are in the picture above?

A few weeks ago Dad got some "lounge shoes" from Sanuk and they look so comfy that I've been pining over them ever since. UNTIL NOW! M&D found me some lounge shoes of my own to match the ol' man. I mean, if anyone has perfected the art of lounging it's my Dad. Who wouldn't want to follow in his footsteps footwear?

Oh, on a side note, Dad's shoes are generally laying all over the family room. So yesterday I decided to teach him a lesson by licking the bottom of his flip flop... that he wore in NYC. So essentially I've liked a NYC sidewalk... wait, who am I punishing here?

I guess my usual sign off doesn't ALWAYS apply....

Mega Pixeless

Sorry that I haven't posted in a while but Mom & Dad left for New York City on the 14th which means I've been holed up with various grandparents ever since. That alone doesn't necessarily preclude me from posting but unlike nights with M&D, my Gs&Gs actually play with me rather than just leave me to my own devices. Now that I'm back with M&D, I have some down time so it will be back to my regular schedule of posting at irregular intervals.

I'll apologize in advance for not having any pictures of my time with Gs&Gs but M&D took the camera with them to NYC. Don't worry, you won't be bored to death with pictures of their trip.... because Dad lost the camera en route from KC to NYC. Nice work Dad!

M&D went to NYC because Paper Mill Designs had a booth at the National Stationary Show with several other members of the Ladies of Letterpress. If you're interested in seeing pics from people who did NOT lose their cameras, check here or here.

Before I get too far into this, I wanted to show a few awesome pics from before my hiatus.

First, this is just a pic to show that my sweet Patagonia vest from my last post is not only extreme but also reversible. Jealous much?

This pic is from Mother's Day. We met G&G Davenport over at Aunt Darty & Uncle Dave's to celebrate. I had my first experience with pork chops (good), GmaD's cheesy hash brown bake (great) and a Skinny Cow Mint ice cream sandwich (greaterest!)

Okay, now on to more recent items. M&D came to pick me up from G&G Herbert's on Saturday (a day late, thank you Southwest Airlines.) After getting back home, Dad decided I was looking picture worthy but with the good camera lost and the old camera's battery dead, he was forced to use his cell phone camera. Oh, this just won't do.

After charging the old camera, Dad brought it with us to breakfast on Sunday morning where we met AD, UD, G&G D at Le Peep. These pics are better but then again, it'd be hard to be worse.

GmaD was nice enough to share her corned beef hash (whatever that is) with me and I'll be honest, it was pretty good (kind of made my syrup-less pancake pale in comparison.)

Also, notice how I'm wearing my Adidas Tennis Skirt on the same day that the French Open began? Coincidence? Actually, yes, but a happy one all the same. French people are smelly (probably) but the FO has a special place for me because it was the first Grand Slam I ever experienced. I remember it like it was yesterday (mostly because I just re-read some of my old posts!) GO ANDY RODDICK!

In the last post I mentioned how much I enjoy being upside down and here's just a bit more proof. As the night goes on and I get more and more tired, I spend more and more time just chillin' against the couch or ottoman (not kidding, I half typed automan) and throw my head back. In looking at this picture you may think that I use Define-A-Lash or Full ‘N Soft or Great Lash BIG or Great Lash or Lash Discovery or Lash Stiletto Ultimate Length or Lash Stiletto Voluptuous or Pulse Perfection or The Colossal Volum’ Express or Volum’ Express Turbo Boost or Volum’ Express or XXL Pro but I have a hard time making decisions (inherited from my Mother) so I just go al natural.

Last Friday Dad introduced me to Toasted Cheese. Um, AWESOME! I mean, yeah, they tasted good and all but they were equally fun to play with. I managed to move every piece from the plate to one of the cup holders and back again multiple times prior to eating them. M&D prefer that I place them in the cup holder rather than dropping them over the side but I think the latter is more fun. Towards the end of dinner, Dad told me if I ate 6 more pieces that I could have an Animal Cracker. Seemed like a tall order at first but then I found a loop hole: if I offer Dad a piece, he takes it an eats it. I burned through 6 pieces pretty quickly that way!

On Saturday, M&D and I went to an Ocho de Mayo party at Carrie & Kim Tennissen's. It was pretty awesome over there. Not only were my buds Mason and Evan there but there were several other kids that I didn't know AND something called a pinata. I thought the pinata was rad but everyone kept trying to break it so maybe I was off.

Those two action shots were fun but my favorite was this one were Uncle Stu Photobombed (feel free to Google on your own time) this picture of Mom & me. Also, look how extreme I am sportin' my Patagonia vest. Sweet right? Eat your heart out Shaun White!

Don't Flip Out

Several months ago I learned that it's really a lot of fun to be upside down. A lot of time when Mom & Dad hold me, I'll just try to lean back as far as I can go for as long as they let me. To be honest, I get a little dizzy but it's a fun kind of dizzy you know? I don't know if there's anything you adults can do to get this happy feeling but if so, you should embrace it. Anyway, one time I was leaning back and Mom may have... dropped is too strong a word... um, loosely controlled a head over heels landing. And it was AWESEOME! Since then we've done MANY more controlled flips one of which Dad caught in this action shot.

Last weekend Aunt Abby had TWO wedding showers. I got to go to both which was both awesome and exhausting. I had a lot of fun watching AA open all those presents but I did get a bit jealous. I mean, could I have had two birthday parties? I need to look into this for next year. I did really enjoy seeing some of my favorite peeps though. Mrs. McComb hosted what amounts to the adult shower so I got to see her on Saturday. Also Linda Baker flew in from the west coast and I got to play with her at both showers which was pretty sweet.

Good as Gold....Fish

Since I am so far behind on my blogging, I'm just gonna go through some pics that I have loaded and then we'll be...BACK TO THE FUTURE... or present... or at least considerably closer.

Today marked the third week anniversary of my first run in with GOLDFISH CRACKERS! You may recall that I got a Goldfish storage container THREE MONTHS AGO but but didn't get the actual crackers for another two plus months. Talk about building the anticipation! I think Mom & Dad were pretty excited about it too because they appear to have instituted some sort of 'One for me six for them' policy.

Dad said that if the numbers on this piece of paper match the numbers on some ping pong balls, that I can totally get an iPad. AWESOME!

Wait, when was the draw date on that ticket? Computer... Rotate 180 degress... now zoom in... and enhance

Oh man, April 14th? Since I'm not typing on an iPad right now (and have not hired a ghost writer) it's safe to assume that we are not millionaires. Doh, what are the odds? Oh... 1 in 195,249,054? Nice investment Dad. Guess I better start boning up on my SAT prep because it looks like I'm gonna need a scholarship.

M&D went on a date so I spent the night at Grandma & Grandpa Davenport. Opps, GpaD was out of town so it was just GmaD and me.... and Aunt Lily and my sisters of course.

The next morning GmaD and I had breakfast but with M&D staying downtown and GpaD and Aunt Darty out of town, we were relegated to having Uncle Dave as company. I think I may have taken a nap during one of his stories... they're soooo loooong.

How cute are these jammies?

What you don't see in the picture above is the label that's hidden by the hassock. Computer... x-ray vision...zoom in... and enhance.

The next day, M&D and I had breakfast at First Watch. Mmmm, MORE PANCAKES!

After pancakes we probably went to like Sam's Club and Babies R Us, whatever, I don't know. It was like 6 months ago, who can remember that stuff. What I do know is that we went on a walk to the park by the tennis courts.

It was an evening of firsts: first first was a swing. It was a special swing for little kids but it was still a tad bit big.

The second first was a slide but surprisingly, M&D didn't just toss me down by myself. Though frankly I think it's because neither are too sure handed and may botch the catch at the bottom. So, I went down with Dad but I'm not so sure the designers had his.... physical makeup in mind when they designed this thing. You can see I was try to catch a glimpse of the load limit just before we went down but didn't see it. We went down anyway and while it happens pretty quick, you can see my expression go from worried to happy.... better look quick though.
