Context Winner

Okay, Okay, I know, I'm the worst. I felt like I was caught up there for a bit but looking at my pictures (thank goodness for time stamps) I'm like 10 days past due and am forced to blog in arrears. Also, I'm not sure if I'm using arrears correctly so I checked Merriam Webster and.... I'm still not sure. Being 1 is hard!

I'm not sure what was going on in this picture but using context clues, I'm able to derive that I am on one side of the fence but Dad and likely some additional things that are awesome are on the other side of the fence. This appears to irritate me. Also, my dress is totally cute. Man, context clues RULE!

On the 30th, Mom had some sort of revalation revolation revelation and decided that we needed to go play tennis. We haven't played tennis at all this year and since winter in Kansas does not make for ideal tennis conditions, you can assume it's been the better part of eight months since I've even seen a racquet in person. So, why now? Well, Mom signed up to represent JP Morgan in KC Corporate Challenge tennis on June 6th (doh, stupid arrears blogging.) So, with a week to spare before her first match, we headed over to the courts. Now usually we meet Grandma and Grandpa Herbert over there but this time it was just the three of us. And that would have been okay, we could have played two on one but instead M&D expected me to sit in my stroller and WATCH. So, let's recap: It's summer in Kansas (HOT & HUMID) and I was expected to WATCH M&D try to dust off eight months worth of sedentary lifestyle? No thank you.

On Sunday the 31st, we celebrated Penny's birthday (and an early Memorial Day) by having a BBQ over at Aunt Darty and Uncle Dave's. Of course, Grandma & Grandpa Davenport were there and as a special surprise, The Stevenses (spell check doesn't like that one but I'm sticking with it) and The Irvines were there as well. Here are a handful of pics. Don't forget to mouse over each pic to see a caption!

Remember, you can't take it with you, but you can lick it so no one else can take it when you're gone.

Until Later,
