Peas Comes From Within

You're not gonna believe this, or actually I'm sure you will but I almost started this post with pictures from the 13th - skipping over the 12th. DOH!

Over the last few weeks I've been skipping Miss Anne's on Mondays and hanging with Grandma Herbert. But Monday the 12th was Grandma Davenport's last Monday before going back to work so I got hang out with her instead.

For lunch, GmaD and I met Dad, Grandpa Davenport, Great Grandma Davenport, Great Aunt Nancy and Aunt Kelly for lunch at Red Robin, YUM! I don't know if you've eaten at RR before but I HIGHLY recommend the crayons. They're delicious!

After lunch, the girls and I headed over to Von Maur to do some shoppin.' I wanted to fit in with the stay at home Moms we always see there so I brought my stroller and baby as well.

You gotta be careful at these department stores though, if you build up some momentum and run into these clothing racks you could crack your head open!

I'm glad a little birdy reminded GmaD that the old camera was in the diaper bag so I could share all of these pics with you. Thanks little birdy!

On the 13th Dad dressed me in this polka dot getup. I'm not sure it really "matches" but it's kind of cute in a clown suit sort of way.

M&D had a couple of extra avocados lying around so Dad made some guac for us to snack on. YUMMY!

Dad thought he was reading me a bedtime story but I was NOT ready for bed. Nice try Dad!

Instead of bed, I had a bath but was still ready to play.

Of course, after playing on the couch for a little while I actually WAS ready for bed.

And now it's bed time!

One Step Forward...

I keep forgetting that Mom & Dad keep the old camera in the diaper bag and more importantly that people other than them actually use it. I mean, that's what it's there for but I keep forgetting to check it. DOH! I'll work on it, I promise!

So let's go back in time a few days and check out some of the pics. I mean, I had pictures from the 8th and from the 10th but none from the 9th? That should have been my first clue.

The 9th was a Friday and I spent the day over at Grandma & Grandpa Herbert's. As a special treat, GmaH and I had brunch with Aunt Abby and Uncle Scoot. [sic] And on the odd chance that you aren't able to deduce it from the background, brunch was as First Watch Shoppes at Corporate Woods. I assume your jaw has dropped in shock at that revelation so take this opportunity to go ahead and close your mouth. While I'm happy that the old camera is being used, there is definitely a reason M&D got a new one. For instance, this pic of AA and me is pretty blurry which is why I made it so small.

This picture on the other hand is nice and clear which is why I've made it so big. In fact, it was clear enough that I was able to crop out some of the random people in the background making me EVEN BIGGER! Who me? Vain? Nah!

GpaH didn't get to play with us at brunch but when he got home from work, it was on!

There were a whole series of these pictures but the only thing that seemed to change was me! It almost looks like I'm at Madame Tussauds (which I originally spelled Tssoud - I... have no idea) getting my picture taken with the GpaH wax figure. Silly GpaH!

Okay, I've taken two steps back but for the next post we'll be caught up... to being two weeks behind. Blurg!

Sneak Preview

I've discussed my affinity for Forts recently and perhaps the oldest fort in my reportiore reprotiore repiortore reprotiore repretoire repertoire (man, I was getting close but quit and looked it up) is the kitchen table. However, I've been exploring a lot lately and you'll see I've found a few other Forts disguised as everyday objects. And fortunately for me, I haven't had to rely on Mom building any of them. My latest Fort: Credenza.

Later that day (Sunday the 11th) the Irvines came over to play. I haven't seen my buddy Eli since Memorial Day and he's come along way. He's mobile! While our parents chatted (and watched the World Cup finale) Eli and I did some parallel playing. You see, kids our age don't really play with each other but more just near each other.

However, there was one time when our parallel playing must have switched to perpendicular and we got a little too close. As you can see, I am maybe a little perturbed here. No hard feelings though buddy, you can play with my toys any time.

Later that night, I was up playing on the couch. M&D were worried that I might flip over the side so they put Elmo there to play defense. Of course, having Elmo up on the couch just makes the couch even more fun.

To distract me and calm me down prior to bedtime, Mom read me a book.

And now, your reward for reading all the way to end. I realize that I'm over two weeks behind in my blogging but Dad and I played a pretty fun game last night (7/26) and of course, he caught it on video. Don't worry, I'll drop back to the middle of July on my next post but I wanted to share this video with you straight away.

I don't remember where Mom was on Thursday the 8th, probably painting or sanding or re-painting the kitchen bathroom but Dad and I had dinner with Aunt Darty over at Grandma & Grandpa Davenport's. For dessert, GmaD shared some of her orange creamsicle like deal but it was maybe a little bitter for me. (Side note: I was googling for the exact dessert and for some reason was thinking it may be Dairy Queen branded. I was at and at the top of its home page, there's a link to iTunes to download the DQ Locator iPhone App. What? First of all, there's already an app to find ice cream stores, it's called Google Maps. Second of all, hey is there an Android version for Dad's phone? I mean, DQ kid's meals COME with an ice cream cone!)

After dinner and dessert I did some quick playing with AD and G&G D before Dad and I had to head home.

On Saturday the 10th, we got up at the crack of eight thirty and met AD, G&G D at First Watch Shoppes at Corporate Woods. After breakfast I headed out with G&G D so M&D could cram for a test... that is having the Ludlow Baby Shower/Party at our house.

G&G D brought me home a little before the party so I could cram in a nap. When I woke up, there were a bunch of people at our house. Hmm, I was a little skeptical at first but once I made the rounds (on my terms) I had a blast. I did think it was pretty funny at one point because I wanted some yogurt but my high chair had been stashed away for the party. So Mom tried feeding me on the counter. Success? Uh, I guess that depends on how you measure success.

Carrie & Kim brought their nephew Jackson over. He's a little older than me but he still found some of my toys to be pretty awesome.

And of course my boyfriend Evan came too. He gets around like a kid twice his age; it's very impressive. I assume he'll have his driver's license in like six more months.

My buddy Mason came too. He was nice enough to let me watch some cartoons with him. Portable DVD players rock!

And of course my GAL pal Gertrude Ann Ludlow was there too; after all the party was in her honor. Her parents are total party poopers though because they said she couldn't come out and play... yet. See you soon GAL!

I don't know what was going on when this picture was taken but I thought I'd share something I found a bit odd. This outfit is a jumpsuit of sorts or perhaps romper if you will - the shirt and shorts are attached in other words. I think it's pretty cute and it's totally comfy but there aren't any snaps or anything so the only way to get into it is to step in and pull it all the way up. That's all fine and good but it also means that for any diaper changings, I have to get stripped all the way down. Total design flaw!

Grandma & Grandpa Davenport went out of town for what felt like about nine months and when they came home, they brought Great Grandma Davenport with them. YEA! To celebrate their return we went to dinner at Jack Stack. Surprised?

And of course, dinner was delicious. I had cole slaw, turkey, mashed potatoes, potato bake, yum! I feel bad for the poor kid that had this high chair after me!

After dinner Dad finally let GmaD pick me (back) up so we could play. I'm not normally one to lounge with my feet on the table but I was tricky enough to get my shoe off during dinner and G&G D were just helping me put it back on.

Much to Aunt Darty's dismay, GpaD gave me another dollar for my piggy bank.

While we were sitting there I did a little day dreaming about what I could buy. Great Uncle John offered to invest it for me but GpaD assured me that my piggy bank was the safest investment.

When we were finally ready to adjourn it was time for me to put on a show. G&G D missed a LOT of walking while they were gone and they wanted to see how far I've come.

When we got home Mom went back to work on revamping the kitchen bathroom and I kept myself entertained turning my Stand & Groove into a Push Around the Kitchen & Groove.

All four of these pics were taken within about 90 seconds of one another - that kitchen carpet really helps that stand move!

As I started to wind down for the night, I did some snuggling with Dad who thought it would be funny to give me "sock arms." It is surprisingly hard to take off one sock arm when you have two sock arms. I'm just sayin'.

Just before bed I decided to play myself a little lull-a-bye. Bye!
