Ritalin Me This

A few posts ago I told you how much I enjoyed playing with Grandma Herbert's magic doodle pad. Well, Mom & Dad noticed how much I liked it so they decided to get me a larger version.

One thing that stumps me is that Dad keeps calling it a MagnaDoodle but as I perused the box, I saw no such moniker. Where's the Fable? Out of curiosity, I Googled MagnaDoodle (poetic huh?) and apparently it is or was made by Ohio Arts. So I guess Dad's using MagnaDoodle as the generic term for all magnetic doodlers? Like Kleenex instead of facial tissue. Bored yet?

Frankly my favorite part are the magnetic shapes that kind of double as a puzzle. Also, I have it on good authority that the taste pretty good.

On the way to lunch at Cheddar's, this sign caught my eye as we drove by the mall.

Mom has been telling me about American Girl for about 15 months now and now we're getting a store four minutes from our house. All I can say is AAAAHHHHHHHHH!

In the afternoon M&D took me to see Dr. Shanker for my 15 month check up. And now that I'm getting a little older, I can take advantage of the toys they keep around the waiting room. For instance here's a table with some wires along which I guess I'm supposed to move the beads or something. I'm not really sure.

You wanna know what I didn't like about this table-toy-puzzle thing? Computer, zoom in and enhance.

OF COURSE! It was a "gift" from Big Pharma trying to get parents to think their kid has ADHD. You do NOT want to get me up on my soap box about what I feel is the over diagnosing of ADHD and... hey, what's that shiny object?

Here are my official 15 month stats. You can see that I sky rocketed from 10th percentile in height to 20th percentile (nearly 2 inches in 3 months) and I've dropped from the 40th percentile in weight to 20th percentile. I guess it's good that my height and weight "match" at least.

Every time we see Dr. Shanker, we learn something new. For instance, at my 12 month checkup we learned strawberries are a citrus fruit and that at 2 yrs old you're half as tall as you'll be as an adult. This trip's knowledge was more about highlighting M&D's poor parenting skills. You see, I LOVE water. I drink water all the time and it is delicious. However, apparently kids under 2 are only supposed to get 6 oz of water a day. Oops, I think I was drinking closer to 20 oz a day. I guess too much water can lead to dehydration. Weird right? Maybe M&D could have read a book or something, you know, I'm just saying.

After the Dr's office, we met the Bakers, G&G H at the tennis courts. GpaH, Jim, M&D all played tennis while GmaH and Linda played with me. It was lots of fun watching them play (Mom & Jim beat Dad & GpaH -- GO MOM!) but it was HOT out and the shade was the place to be. As an added bonus, Aunt Abby stopped by after work to say wadup.

Remember, you can't take it with you, but you can lick it so no one else can take it when you're gone.

Until Later,
Avery
