The Classics

Grandma Herbert agreed to take on a few Mondays over the summer so on the 19th, I spent the day with her. My grandmothers keep me so busy, I love it! They always play WITH me, vs my parents who tend to make me entertain myself. Where's the fable? On Monday afternoon, Aunt Abby & Uncle Scott stopped by to play with me too (why else would they stop by?)

I hear that G&G H's basement is kind of like a museum where you can find secret treasures if you know where to look. AA is an especially good treasure hunter and is always finding "new" toys for me to play. Technically the toys are 20-30 years old but if I haven't played with it yet, it's new to me.

After G&G H's, we headed over to Grandma & Grandpa Davenport's for dinner. Aunt Kelly, Uncle Tim, Uncle Dave & Aunt Darcy were all there too so we could celebrate Great Grandma Davenport's last night in KC (she was there too, duh.)

G&G D are always looking for new toys for me as well. I think GmaD is part of some Grandma Social Network at work and gets all sorts of toys from her friends. Her buddy Mary Ann Mitchell lent us this Little Tikes wagon (and also tons of books and other fun items ~ Thanks!) that I can pull behind me.

Of course, I found it to be a lot more fun to SIT in the wagon and have someone else pull it. Unfortunately the handle is kind of short (it is made for toddlers after all) so I didn't get many takers. However, Mom and AD did figure out that they can just "kick" me back and forth. Hey, beggers beggars can't be choosers!

Eventually the fun stopped though (I assume Mom pulled a hammy) so I tried to work another angle. I was trying to convince Cousin Riley to come over and let me hang on to her tail and have her run around. She didn't buy it though. Bummer!

I do love the classic toys but of course, there's something to be said for the modern toys too!

As they usually do, the night seemed to speed by and I was forced to say bon voyage to GGD. I had so much fun with her in town and am already looking forward to seeing her again at Thanksgiving!

Remember, you can't take it with you, but you can lick it so no one else can take it when you're gone.

Until Later,
Avery
