On July 28th, Mom, Dad and I headed over to Grandma & Grandpa Herbert's for Dinner along with Aunt Abby & Uncle Scott. I got a little worried because for a moment there was talk of eating outside and as you can see from my shirt, it was HOT out. Or I spilled some water, I'm not sure. Wait, I'm sure it was hot I'm just not sure if that's why my shirt was wet. Wait, what?
After Dinner GmaH and I went to play the piano.
Okay, which one is middle C? | Duet...GO! |
Glad this wasn't Snuffleupagus | NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! |
It's picture time, everyone pose! |
I asked Mom to read me my current favorite book, Doggies. This lead to an impromptu round of Fort. Book Fort! Keepin' it fresh over here!
Sometimes I get a little passionate about politics and when I see one of Dad's Newsweeks lying around, I have to hulk smash it.
Reinvention of Reverend Al? No thanks! |
This lady was kind of lacking in her reading to children skills. In fact, at one point one little girl had to ask for her to show us the pictures. Hello, reading to kids 101!
Still, it was pretty awesome. I got to sit and color with GmaH and meet other little kids. The other little girl in this pic was really nice and kept sharing her crayons. Thanks, um... shoot, I forgot her name. Thanks for passing that gene on Dad!
After story hour we met Grandpa Davenport for lunch at Nordstrom Cafe. YUM!
I really enjoy the food at NC but sometimes the scenery (people watching) is the best part. Spy these two girls behind me in the pink bows. First of all, those bows look incredibly uncomfortable. Second, they were both playing with their own iPod touches while we were in line. COME ON! Also, Dad told me that as he was getting on the plane home from Denver last time, there was a two year old watching a movie on an iPad. Actually, the kid was just touching the screen over and over so the movie would keep stopping and restarting and pausing... it sounded awesome; I'm so jealous. Oops, I got a little off track, where was I? Oh, those two girls, right. Why are they dressed alike? They're not twins; they're like 2 years apart. Where's the fable?
Thanks for lunch GpaD! |
Dinner was great and all but the real treat was waiting for me back at G&G D's.
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!! |
There's a front door that I can prop open for easy access or close to keep boys out.
And then there's this escape tunnel in case any boys break through the perimeter. Whew, I'll tell you what, I slept well that night!
Remember, you can't take it with you, but you can lick it so no one else can take it when you're gone.
Until Later,
Avery
