Johnny of the Depp-th

I've noticed that my toys, or rather, my interest in my toys is cyclical. Despite walking by my play gym every single day, I haven't had much interest in it lately. Then the morning of the 17th, it caught my eye and I played in for like 20 minutes. Game on!

The afternoon of the 17th, Aunt Darcy (that's right, I'm working on my pronunciation) threw Grandma Davenport a birthday party with the help of Mom. Wow, it sure seems like a lot of people like GmaD; flying in to celebrate, throwing parties... she sure is lucky.

Dad and I weren't invited but we crashed the party at the end anyway so we could partake in the leftover snacks. Sweet! Also I'm pretty sure GmaD was happy to see me!

After Dad scared most of the guests away, we sat in the living room with with Great Grandma Davenport, AD, GmaD and Aunt Kelly and just chatted.

Although I did take a few breaks to go play with my cousin Riley or scope out new forts.

After the party, I tagged along with M&D for a trip to Babies R Us. I don't know if you recall but my sisters and I all have an octopus we call our own. Now don't get me wrong, I love Olive the Octopus but at BRU, I found this guy.

What the wha? A pirate AND an octopus? I feel like there's a setup for a joke in there somewhere. Lamaze, the company that makes this fella, calls him Captain Calamari but Calamari is squid and I don't think he's a squid. As you can clearly see from the picture below, squid have those pointy heads and this guy doesn't appear to have a pointy head under his bandana. Now you're probably thinking, "Hey, a cephalopod is a cephalopod is a cephalopod" but I disagree.

The question is, can we do better than Captain Calamari? Eight Arrrrrrmed Bandit? Polipo Pirate? Hmm, maybe not. Although as I was googling "pirate octopus", I found this gem: A GREETING CARD which takes the oddly combined pirate and octopus and makes the next natural leap by adding SANTA CLAUS. Santa Pirate Octopus. Of course! Hurry, these are going fast?

Okay, now that that's out of my system, I can wrap this post up with one last picture. After my bath I decided to play art class for a while. As you can see here I've done a nice Kansas landscape... and of course with no trees it looks like it must be western Kansas.

Remember, you can't take it with you, but you can lick it so no one else can take it when you're gone.

Until Later,
