Friday the 13th (ooooooh, scary) was one of Mom's off days which naturally meant it was awesome. We had a late lunch planned with Aunt Abby and Grandma Herbert at Nordstrom and went ahead and invited Dad too. Mom and I did a little pre-lunch shopping but Ann Taylor Loft's kid section is awful so it was kind of a bust.
We met up with Dad, GmaH & AA in the Men's Accessories department which, shockingly, I also found boring. Hello, the kid's department is on the third floor WITH THE CAFE, hint, hint. I had the kid's pizza which I'm pretty sure is the same size as the adult pizza but half the price. Uh, okay. How come they don't have a kid's version of the Cookie Royale at half price. YUM!

After lunch my heart wanted to go shopping but my eyelids said NO WAY so we headed home for a nap. The rest of Friday was pretty chill which was good because we had to rest up for tennis with G&G H in the morning.
As per the current standing agreement, M&D played tennis with GpaH while GmaH had to keep me entertained. Dad took a snapshot of us at the swings but it was from so far away I thought you might need some help telling out who's who.
After the three of them got done playing, it was my turn (along with the help of GmaH.)

After tennis we headed over to the grocery store... or something... I don't remember and there aren't any pictures so it must not have been that interesting.
On Sunday we had breakfast with Aunt Darcy, Uncle Dave, Grandma & Grandpa Davenport atFirst Watch Le Peep -- whoa, curve ball! The weather was so nice that we actually volunteered to sit outside IN AUGUST! So naturally we got a table inside though it was near the door... I guess the one by the kitchen wasn't available? I picked a seat next to GmaD and helped myself to her breakfast potatoes but kept my hands off the corned beef hash... largely because I don't know what those words mean when they're put together. I got a little fussy near the end of breakfast so GmaD took me for a little walk. When everyone caught up with us it was time to say farewell so everyone got a kiss.
Well, not everyone... I mean, I have standards.
After breakfast we headed home to play with my sisters. It was so nice that we did that playing outside - at NOON!
After my nap I did some playing with Mom. We read Pop Warhol's Top which has some sort of fun texture on every page. Naturally my favorite was Thiebaud's Cakes but then again I'm a Thiebaud fan.
After dinner we played tennis with G&G D again. When my turn came Mom stepped up to help me out. I am getting GOOD!
Just as we were about to get in the car we were surprised with a visit from G&G D. They were out enjoying the weather in the convertible and stopped by to see if they could catch me playing. I was like, "forget that, let's take this baby for a spin!" Think about it, if it were 1977 they probably could just take off with me sitting on the arm rest. Sweet!
Actually, G&G D were parked in the middle of the lot and had to move when a car needed to get by.... so I did get to go for a mini spin. Super Sweet!

That was one great weekend. Anytime I get to see so much of my family in such a short amount of time it makes me think how luckythey are I am.
Remember, you can't take it with you, but you can lick it so no one else can take it when you're gone.
Until Later,
Avery

Seriously, when did car seats become mandatory? Answer |
