Blurg of Note

Per the yuzhe (phonetic spelling for the first syllable of Usual - brevity, so hot right now) as soon as I got home I asked Mom for a cup of milk. Yum!
When Dad got off work he flipped on the idiot box panel so we could watch some tennis. I'm not a huge Maria Sharapova fan so I wasn't paying a whole lot of attention but then something caught my eye. Her opponent was Jarmila Groth (her friends call her Jarka) of the Kansas City Explorers.
Jarka (okay, we're not friends but I have seen her play live!) took an early lead and actually won the first set but it was down hill after that and she lost the next two sets 3-6, 1-6. Just as in July, Jarka was very winey and cranky during the match. Maybe she just needed a nap or some milk but she definitely needed something. Chris Fowler even said she needed an attitude adjustment if she plans on being successful - AW SNAP!

Mom had a Paper Mill Designs appointment at The Great Mall of the Great Plains (jealous?) so Dad and I were on our own for dinner. As we're prone to do in such situations, we called Grandma & Grandpa Davenport to see if they'd like to have dinner. As it turns out they were already planning on eating dinner (crazy huh?) so it worked out pretty well. We met them at J. Alexander's where the appetizer special was chips with guacamole - YUM! Dad hooked me up with a heap full of guac and a few chips but I just wasn't feeling it (too much milk maybe?) That was until I took the chips out of the equation, grabbed a spoon and did a little self service.
The guac was tough to get off this giant spoon though so with the hope that my upper lip would catch any remanents, I pulled the spoon straight up out of my mouth. It wasn't really successful unless you measure success by the amount of guac I got IN MY NOSE!

Dad shared his fries with me but I didn't really eat that much. I even turned down bites of his burger, bites of GmaD's baked potato, a portion of GpaD's mac n cheese (spread out nicely on a small plate to cool down) and even turned down CARROT CAKE! Don't feel too bad for the CC though, somehow it all got eaten, save one lone bite no one admitted to wanting.

As GpaD broke out his wallet to pay the bill he must have found a stray dollar bill because he made another donation to my US Open Vacation College fund. I pleaded with him to give it to Aunt Darcy instead (the previous stray dollar benefactor) but he insisted. Thanks GpaD!

The bill was taking awhile so GmaD rescued me from my high chair. I let GmaD know I wanted to walk a little bit so she took me outside for a trot.
Dad and GpaD came out shortly there after and we said our good-byes.

I want to take a quick second to welcome my new buddy Amelia Kay into the world and say congratulations to the Steffens. You can get to know AK by checking out her blog here. Let me know if you need any advice AK because I've become quite adept at manipulating my parents (you won't need any help with the grandparents!)

Here's Blogger's "Blog of Note" for September 8th. Written Inc is by a journalist (self-proclaimed) named Carmi Levy (yikes) who's been blogging for six years. Whoa, do I have to keep this up for four+ more years before I get recognized by Blogger?!?!

Note about the title: M&D are big 30 Rock fans and "blurg" is a common phrase used by the lead character. They've been using the term for a few years now and it's slowly been infecting me as well. Alternate title for today's post: Four More Years, Four More Years but I already have a post entitled FOUR MORE YEARS! Brutal!

Remember, you can't take it with you, but you can lick it so no one else can take it when you're gone.

Until Later,
Avery
