You're So Vain

Mom and Dad woke me up early on Saturday the 30th, hence the blurry eyes in the pic above (cell phone camera helped contribute to blurriness as well.) In my experience when I get woken up early it usually means I'm about to spend multiple hours in my car seat and since I was sportin' my KSU gear, I assumed we were going to Manhattan for my first KSU football game - YESSSSS!
I overheard several comparisons to this goofy kid - NOT COOL!
However, I became suspicious when Dad and I left Mom at home and instead of heading west, headed south to First Watch Shoppes at Corporate Woods. So, it's not my first Cat's game which was a bummer but it did mean a LOT less time in my car seat. Also, we met Aunt Darcy, Uncle Dave, Grandma & Grandpa Davenport for breakfast which I always enjoy.
October 30th is Uncle Dave's birthday so mark your calendars if you haven't already. M&D have been working on numbers with me and while I'm not to good at pronouncing "one" I do a pretty decent job (though I have nothing to compare myself to) at pronouncing two through five (though not always in that order.) Uncle Dave turned four four (Wow, how many birthdays do you get?!?!) which was pretty convenient for my limited vocabulary.

Before I go any further I'd be remiss if I didn't address the FWSCW special you can see behind UD and me. "Breakfast Nachos - A bed of tortilla chips topped with chicken, chorizo, tomato, black olives, jalapenos, jack & Cheddar cheese and scrambled eggs. Served with salsa and fresh fruit. Very Scary!!" Hmm. I love breakfast and I like a lot of the individual ingredients here but I don't know if chicken is a breakfast food... and I KNOW tortilla chips aren't a breakfast food but still, I'm intrigued. I'll have to keep an eye out for these in the future and who knows, curiosity may just get the best of me.

After breakfast Dad pawned me off to AD & GmaD to go SHOPPING... AT NORDSTROM... WITH AUNT ABBY! Uh, awesome. We had our own dressing room and got to play in there for a couple of hours. I think everyone was pretty impressed with how chill I was but let's be serious, that place was like wall to wall mirrors and I'm pretty sure Carly Simon wrote that song about me... me... me.
After all that work we had lunch at Nordstrom Cafe - shocker! I had the see-food, HA!

I got in a little nap and then G&G D transferred custody back to M&D who had spent the day preparing for our Halloween party. Needless to say, it was a costume party so I went as a bumble bee.
My buddies came in costume as well. Maddie went as a Zebra, Amelia went as a Pea Pod, Evan as a Fireman and Mason as COOKIE MONSTER (SWEET!) Dad's camera battery died so we didn't get many pics so I borrowed the pics of the girls.
The boys were doing a lot of playing and got warm so they both got to get out of their costumes (their parents love them.)
You can see Mason's costume on the couch behind me. Is it just me or does the other Cookie Monster have a suspicious look on his face?

For those of you not in the know, M&D like to have themed costumes and since I decided to be a bumble bee they decided to join me in the insect like kingdom. Mom went as a Black Widow Spider (very scary) and Dad went as a Drag Queen Bee (a completely different type of scary.)
Hands off kids, these parents are MINE!

Editor's Note: This is my second post title inspired by Carly Simon. The first was back in February and was entitled with lyrics from You're So Vain. And if you check out the pictures in that post, it's pretty funny.

Remember, you can't take it with you, but you can lick it so no one else can take it when you're gone.

Until Later,
Avery
