On Tuesday the 25th, Grandpa Davenport invited us to dinner at Mi Ranchito along with Aunt Darcy. It appears that Mom & Dad are finally learning because they didn't even bother with a high chair or booster seat. I think M&D asked no few than a hundred times that I get on my knees because there's no standing allowed. Their success rate? Mmm, about five percent I reckon. Wow, they must not be very convincing... I WIN!

Grandma Davenport had to work so she couldn't join us for dinner but I didn't want GmaD to feel left out so we went up to visitor her at school. I assure you, this was ONLY because GmaD was there and not because high school is totally awesome with bands and pom-poms and giant open areas great for running around... well maybe it was a little bit of both.

We had front row seats to watch the game but I was more interested in the cheerleaders. They had on outfits just like one of my faves but they had POM POMS! When they'd drop 'em to cheer, Mom would tried to get me to go steal one which would then prompt Dad to parent both of us. Stick in the mud!

When the cheerleaders, dance squad and band were taking a break, aka the basketball game was going on, I had to find a way to entertain myself. There's a lot of basketball on at home these days but it's not NEARLY as entertaining when it's not peppered with iPad commercials.
And of course, when I say entertain myself, I mean be entertained by AD, G&G D.
We left before the game was over (thank goodness) but while we were headed out, I got distracted by a huge indoor play area NOT being hogged by basketball players. AHHHHHHHH!

I wish GmaD could have joined us for dinner but I had a LOT of fun up at school!

Progression or Regression

This video is from the 18th so it should have been in the last post but I forgot about it (you're shocked right?) Regardless, here it is.

Grandma and Grandpa Davenport tricked Mom, Dad and me into going to dinner at Jack Stack on the 20th.
Once again I expressed my new, extreme displeasure with high chairs. I spent a little time in one but it was all hands on deck to entertain me. My favorite part? CHEETOS ASTEROIDS! Not technically on the JS menu but M&D broke them out hoping that if I crammed enough in my mouth, that I wouldn't cry. Good luck with that M&D.

Grandma Herbert was still in California with my competition cousins so we decided to keep Grandpa Herbert company with a breakfast at First Watch Shoppes at Corporate Woods. Once again, I was NOT interested in sitting in a high chair so spent most of breakfast on Mom's lap but eventually settled into a chair next to her.

After my nap that afternoon, Mom and I met Dad, Aunt Darcy, Uncle Dave, G&G D at Barley's where they were watching the KU game. And had KSU won earlier that day or somehow beat KU yesterday (1/29) I'd be cracking jokes about how KU's 69 game winning streak finally ended. But KSU will be lucky to make the NIT at this point so I'll just move on.

Hmm, well I for one am SHOCKED that my hat doesn't fit UD.

Hello Cheetos Asteroids! Apparently I wasn't in a good enough mood to finish my CAs at JS the night before and Mom broke 'em out for me to snack on again. Sweet. This is why you check out the blog right? For pictures... of my snacks? Perfect.

To help keep me entertained, GmaD got out a pen and some paper and I challenged UD to a game of tic-tac-toe... and he walked right into my trap. HA!

I offered to share my CAs with AD but mostly because I knew she'd decline. Frankly I'm surprised she got as close as she did.

No idea what was going on here but it's kind of a funny of me so I slapped in.

Near the end of afternoon, AD ordered some sort of special apple cobbler thing and it was awesome. She had more trouble keeping people away from it that I did my Asteroids. YUM!

Oh great, UD stretched my hat out. Wonderful. Still, pretty awesome day!

While Dad was sleeping the day away on Sunday, Mom and I made some breakfast casserole. As I've mentioned, I've been really interested in the goings on around the kitchen (a word I can say) and I found making breakfast casserole fascinating. Seriously, I even watched it bake. Also, breakfast casserole is DELICIOUS!

Everyone knows your lenses are supposed to match your shirt. Hmm, at least one of us got it right.

Every once in awhile I'll get the urge to hug one of my sisters. It usually culminates with me chasing them around until they take cover by Mom or Dad... who kind of hold them still until I catch up. I WIN!

While we were cooking, Mom got to wear an apprin aprin apren appren aprren aperin aperen apron (COME ON - I HAD TO LOOK UP APRON - UGH!) and I was jealous so that night, she hooked me up by adjusting it so it fit me. It was awesome.
Hmm, I smell a birthday present in the works...

Somebody Call 9-1-1

After my rough weekend, M&D decided to take me to see Dr. Shanker on Monday the 17th and as it turned out, I had an ear infection. To help me convalesce, Grandma & Grandpa Herbert came over after work to play -- Just what the doctor ordered.

Mom had bookclub on the 18th so Dad and I met Aunt Darcy over at Grandma & Grandpa Davenport's for dinner. I had a Hok-Kog with Kep-up and it was delcious!

One of my new favorite toys is the mini kitchen over at G&G D's. I'm really in to "helping" M&D in the kitchen at home and spend much of the evening dragging a stool around the kitchen to get the best view possible. My mini kitchen let's ME do the cooking without all of the heavy lifting.

Though Dad seems a little worried that GmaD is playing the roll of teacher. She's helped me learn some key lines like, "I don't know what happened, I followed the directions" and "No, no, no need to send a fire truck!"

After a hard night in the kitchen, there's nothing better than kicking back and relaxing.

At the end of the visit, GmaD hooked me up with a little ice cream night cap -- I LOVE GRANDMAS!

On Wednesday the 19th, Kansas City got hit with 6"-8" of snow. I'm sure that's not much by some standards but it had quite an impact in KC. Since Aunt Abby had to work late that night and early Thursday morning, she decided to sleep over at our house. SWEET! That doesn't explain why I shared 19 of my stickers with Dad but it at least helps prep the next few pics.

AA and I did a tons of playing. She read me a few of my books, including Bear Snores On...
Then a book she brought, Mini Shopahalic, though I found it a little low brow after Bear Snores On.
However... it was kind of addictive. It's just such an easy read...!

Also, how cute are my sisters?!?!

Fun and Done

I thought I was busy on Friday night the 14th but holy cow, that was nothing compared to Saturday night. My buddy Eli came over with his parents Brian and Megan for a pre-dinner play date. It took me awhile to warm up to everyone (as is the norm these days) but once I did, I had a lot of fun. I even sat with Brian a little bit to show off some magna-doodle art work.
I'm sure you keen readers have noticed that all six of us are in this pic above and are wondering how that could be. Fortunately M&D had filled my evening dance card by inviting Aunt Darcy, Grandma & Grandpa Davenport over for dinner and AD volunteered to snap the pic.
I really liked Eli's hat and was trying to figure out if I could get it with purple, pink, red and white stripes. That'd be totally cute right?!?!

Eli had dinner plans with HIS grandparents so they headed out but who can blame him - grandparents are awesome! After dinner, we retired to the family room to do some playing. GpaD must not have been comfortable sitting on his wallet because he broke it out to make it a little thinner.
But I'm not a greedy little kid so I spread the wealth around.

I spent a lot of time just bouncing from person to person playing all night. Snuggling and playing, snuggling and playing...
I'll be honest, it was exhausting. Totally awesome, but exhausting. And I don't necessarily mean for me. Not pictured: GpaD and AD napping!

Mom and I woke up before Dad the next morning (SHOCK!) and to pass the time before he got up, we did some reading. Penny snuggled us too which was pretty sweet.
Can you tell I was having fun?

Mom had already eaten breakfast but when Dad got a call from AD, G&G D the two of us hit the road and headed to First Watch Shoppes at Corporate Woods. I didn't sleep well the night before and wasn't in a great mood so Dad knew he was kind of rolling the dice with a meal out. And he was right to be worried...
If you can't tell, that is a FAKE smile on my ol' man. I decided I would NOT sit in a high chair and screamed when Dad tried to make me. Even when he folded and moved me to the booth between him and GpaD, I still wasn't happy.
Or was I... I WIN!
