Model Child

With Grandma Herbert out of town, I got to spend Friday the 15th with Grandma Davenport.
GmaD had scheduled a photo shoot for the two of us so she'd have some new pics to get through the coming school year. I think the photographer got some pretty good stuff, don't you?

After my nap, G&G D, Aunt Darcy and I met Mom & Dad for dinner at Chili's and since we didn't get to hit up Green Apple the day before, we walked down to Yogurtini - a different brand of ice cream by the pound - loosen your belt buckles.

On Saturday the 16th M&D went to the Kansas City Explorer's match with Aunt Darcy and Uncle Dave which means I got to spend the night with G&G D. While M&D were braving the heat, G&G D and I were keeping cool with a movie - CINDERELLA! As you can see, I was spellbound!

To round out the weekend I got to experience my first shower in M&D's new bathroom. I love running water and I don't know how familiar you are but that's pretty much what a shower is. It was AWESOME!

Get Your Fill

On the evening of July 12th, Grandma & Grandpa Herbert stopped by to say goodbye. Well, first they said hello and played for a little while but they were heading to the west coast the next day to play with my cousins and they needed to get their Avery fill first.
Also they wanted to get their Penny fill... I hope.

The 14th was Grandma Davenport's XXXth birthday so we celebrated with a dinner at Herford House. For GmaD's birthday I got her a Color Wonders coloring book with the Disney Princesses on it. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
One of the sweet things about HH are its mini private rooms. It serves several purposes - the first of which is to coral me - BOO! Actually it's okay because it means Dad doesn't completely hate the idea of me getting off my chair.
MONIES!

Despite having a free birthday dessert to split, I talked everyone into going to Green Apple. Ice Cream by the Pound - Just what the Dr ordered!
Unfortunately I was exhausted and fell asleep before I got the chance to enjoy the poundage. Boo!

Happy Birthday GmaD!

It's a Potty Over Here

On Saturday the 9th, Mom, Dad & I had dinner at the Yard House with Aunt Darcy, Uncle Dave, Grandma & Grandpa Davenport. For those of you not in the know, the Yard House is at the Legends shopping center which tends to be a mad house during the weekends (probably because there's nothing else to do in Wyandotte County) which M&D seem to have forgotten. To add to the general craziness, the T-Bones were playing the El Paso Diablos and the Sporting KC were playing Chivas USA. Both of those stadiums are within 20 Olympic swimming pools (about a half mile) of the Yard House and both games started at about the same time we got there and let me tell you, this dinner almost didn't happen. It was pretty entertaining watching Dad's head turn so many shades of red though.
After dinner we spent a little time in the courtyard (may have been eating Cold Stone) and G&G gave me a little tour.

On the way back to our car we saw a bachelorette party boarding a beat down old school bus that had been painted gray. Stay classy Wyandotte!

On Sunday I went to church with Grandma & Grandpa Herbert.
I've been gathering some monies lately and I took some of them to church to give toward the organ. That thing is wicked sweet.

After church we headed to First Watch Corinth Square.
No time for a photo opp, I've got circles to draw here!

When I got home Dad showed me a book he and Mom picked up while they were out. It's called POTTY TIME! What the wha? The kids from Sesame Street are trying to trick me into using the potty. Good luck!

That night, M&D went to the Ben Folds concert with Aunt Darcy so I got to go play with G&G D.
Good times!

Full of Hot Air

Aunt Abby has been putting in some crazy hours at the office this month which I'm sure is kind of a bummer for her but it's resulted in a lot of visits to me. Which is nice.

When Dad came to wake me up on the 8th, I asked him (read: made him) to hug all of my friends before we started the day.
Clockwise from 9:00: Bunny, Purple Bear, Froggy, Dad, Cookie Monster, Baby Ally (barely visible) and Baby Emma Darcy. He sure had his hands full!

I spent that night over at Grandma & Grandpa Davenport's so M&D could go see a movie or something lame. Whatever, the three of us headed down to south to some sort of hot air balloon festival.
I don't know why they were doing it or what exactly they were doing it (they never took off) but it was still pretty awesome.
My favorite part was definitely when they "flamed" or whatever the parlance is. It was especially sweet as the sun went down a little bit and lit up the whole balloon.
Thanks G&G D!

P.S. - I'll bet the title had you thinking this post was gonna be about Uncle Dave right? TWIST!

I am a Firework

The 4th of July was pretty awesome.
Mom & Dad decided to take additional steps to lower the value of our home by purchasing an inflatable pool. After Dad inflated the pool he let me fill it up. I'm pretty much a sucker for running water in all circumstances and this was no different.
As if filling the pool wasn't fun enough, when we finished we actually got to get in and play for awhile.
Ooops, doesn't look like that pic is available (probably for the best.)

That evening, Aunt Darcy, Uncle Dave, Cousin Riley, Grandma & Grandpa Davenport came over for a BBQ and to enjoy some fireworks.
Oh, and there may have been bubbles.
I've never seen live fireworks so I was pretty excited for this. We went to Corporate Woods with AD&UD last year but we got rained out before the fireworks actually started so it was a bust.
I got to enjoy the best seat in the house; next to GmaD.

There was a light pole in our direct line of sight but it didn't take away much. Enjoy the pics and vid. Cheers.

Prisoner 24601

Sunday the 3rd was really chill. We'd just been relaxing most of the day (read: I was in a good mood) so while I was having my post nap snack, Mom suggested we hit up Theatre in the Park to see the final performance of Les Miserables.
We packed a cooler, picked up some Jimmy Johns (shock!) and hit the road. I love picnics and this was no exception.

We called Aunt Darcy, Grandma & Grandpa Davenport to see if they wanted to join and got two takers. Guess who abstained (hint: he came to pick GmaD up when we left.)

Before the show started, I grabbed a spot on GmaD's lap and hung tight for the whole show. Fortunately for all involved, it was one of the few days this month that wasn't a million degrees out. In fact when the wind picked up near the end, I put on a blanket -- IN JULY!

Jean Valjean. Voice wasn't as good as Javert's but considerably better than Marius. Heck, the Bishop had a better voice than Marius and he was only on for three minutes! Who was in charge of casting this debacle?

Master of the House, doling out the charm, ready with a handshake and an open palm. I love the Thénardiers.

We all know One Day More is one of my all time faves and I was super excited when it came on . I just hope I didn't bother anyone with my singing - sorry, I just can't help it.

We left after the first act but really, I saw what I came to see and it was like 10:00 and I was ready to crash. A party on the 2nd, Les Mis on the 3rd - could this weekend get any better? (hint: it does!)
