Take Me Out to the Ball Game

On the 21st of June, Aunt Darcy, Mom & Dad took me to my first Royals game -- Thanks Mr. Eidson!

I wanted to go straight to our seats but M&D were taking FOREVER!

Great seats - In the shade and pretty much out of foul ball territory which was kind of a relief.

I watched a little bit of the game... in the beginning...
... but there's so much going on...
... then everyone would clap -- it was so fun!

After a bit, we took a break and ran to the concession stand.

Mom tried to get me to pose for a pic with Dad but then I saw they had hotdogs!
AHHHHHHH!
AHHHHHH!

Shortly before the seventh inning we headed out to the kid zone play area behind the outfield. First stop - running the bases.
I watched all the kids as we waited in line and got a feel for how things worked. The first pitch was right down the middle and despite swinging a bit late Dad encouraged me to take off - so I did!
About the time I rounded First Base AD suggested Mom kick on the video.
Good times!

Next stop was the carousel.
I'll be honest, I was a little hesitant but after a few spins I was loving it.

Next up was the play ground and that place was jammed!

It wasn't too long before I asked Mom if we could bail - so we could go shopping!

On down the walk we ran into a Sheridan's and thought it would be rude not to partake.
I sampled a little bit of everything but I really like the one Mom and I split.
But it was really thick and took a lot of leverage to get a bite. And when you hold the spoon all the way at the end and apply said leverage you get a bit of a catapult effect.
I believe this moment was immediately preceded by Dad going, "Katrina, you better be watch out for..."
Um, excuse me, there's a hair in my ice cream.
Double fisting it.  Classy.

We watched the end of the game from behind the fountains and despite taking an early lead the Royals blew it and lost... but at least I had fun right?

Remember, you can't take it with you, but you can lick it so no one else can take it when you're gone.

Until Later,
Avery
