Term Paper

Merriam-Webster defines POST as: something (as a message) that is published online after the fact. Okay, I added the last three words because I really expected M-W to have my back here. I mean, ex post facto is after the fact; how'd I miss here? Seemed like I was gonna start this term paper PROPER! For reals, I may have to email the editor about this...

On the 13th I went to church with Donna Lane, Grandma & Grandpa Herbert.
Afterwards we enjoyed some cookies and coffee (not all of us indulged in both) and took a few pics.
And how about this; it was mid November and still nice enough that I didn't need a coat or even a sweater. Though I feel like the longer it stays moderate, the harsher the winter we're in for.

Holiday season is coming up (in blog time) so I've got my work cut out for me but I'm gonna work my boots off to catch up by the new year. Anyone out there a betting man?

Like a Good Neighbor

On the 12th, Dad and I hit the gym for tumbling. I like how they have us stretch but keep it fun by including accessories like a been bag or this ball. In fact, I like this ball enough I might just add it to my Amazon Wishlist.

While this looks like a totally legit workout outfit, it was actually pretty brutal for tumbling. They're superslick which meant anytime I tried to crawl, I slipped. They also have NO give so when I needed to stretch my legs, I couldn't.
Maybe if Dad had ever ACTUALLY worked out, he'd know these types of pants are usually shed for shorts. Where's the Fable Dad?

That night M&D and I had dinner with Aunt Darcy, Grandma & Grandpa Davenport at Minsky's. As usual, as soon as we were done eating I talked GpaD into driving cars with me.

I'll be honest, I need a LOT of practice. It's risky even posting footage like this because if State Farm sees any of this, the rates on my Cozy Coupe will skyrocket!

If anyone asks, you never saw these pics!

Eleven Eleven Eleven

The eleventh was a Friday which meant I got to spend it over at Grandma & Grandpa Herbert's.
GpaH is painting his house so GmaH and I went outside to help. That was until I saw how tall that ladder was. YIKES! One look at that thing and my tummy was doing somersaults... though it occurred to me that maybe I was just hungry. So we headed to Nordstrom for Lunch with Aunt Abby.
Funnily enough, Mom & Dad were there for lunch as well and since the Cafe was packed we went ahead and ate together as well.
After lunch we did a little shoe shopping (and little describes both the amount of shopping and the size of the shoes!)

That night M&D and I had dinner with Aunt Darcy, Uncle Dave and Grandpa Davenport at Nick & Jake's. (and don't ask why I was so into everyone's hair. ...I mean, it was like three weeks ago.)
After dinner we headed to a soft opening at the new Coach's South and got a private tour of the upstairs patio/deck. It is incredible and it has fire pits. Mmmm, fire.

Excedrin Headache #1

Shortly after I published yesterday's post I remembered that Dad had taken some video at the Symphony Petting Zoo that I meant to share with you. And while I was looking for that video, I found a video that I didn't know Aunt Abby had even taken. So enjoy.

When I got my shot at the gong, I was a little perturbed that some xylophone prodigy had to upstage me. Where's the fable?

This one is more of an auditory video, if there is such a thing. I thing it also lends insight to Dad's state of mind near the end of that... uh... show?

The Gong Show

Grandma Herbert heard about a sweet petting zoo so on the tenth, Mom, Dad, G&G H all checked it out.
It's actually put on by the Kansas City Symphony and it's an opportunity for kids (that's me) to see, touch and play the instruments. It was awesome!

I didn't catch the name of the disinfectant they used after each kid tried these... so who knows what I did catch. Sadly, I didn't get any of these guys to make any noise but there was plenty of noise to be made and I made plenty of it.

This guy was familiar. Though my version at home is colorful which I think is a nice touch.

Loud. Easy. A no brainer.

Uh, what am I, a 1 yr old?

Ya, mon.

Doh, that girl snared the drum out from under me.

Wood Block? Really? I hope this was either the first instrument ever made ("Hey, hitting this block makes noise.") or the last instrument ever made and the "inventor" had just stopped trying. Wood Block; so square.

My buddy Maddie showed up to play as well (her POV here.) I offered to help her play the triangle (another instrument who's sheet music imagine reads like:
"now....now....now.......now..now....now...now")

Before we wrapped things up G&G H tried to help me with the flute; still no noise. I think I'll just stick with the piano.

Not sure you can tell but this is me giving Maddie a hug goodbye. I'm not entirely sure she was thrilled with the idea but we hugged it out none the less.

After the zoo the five of us joined Grandma & Grandpa Davenport at Pizza Shoppe. After some pink stuff we headed to Olathe East for a Broadway Review. It was awesome and at the end, I even met the girl that played Mayzie LaBird in Seussical the Musical. Two words: Star Struck!

St. Elmo's; Fire

After spending the night with Grandma & Grandpa Davenport, I woke up on the 6th and wanted to cram in some playing before heading back to Mom & Dad.
G&G D setup Elmo to ride with me on my motorcycle which was pretty fun... but Elmo is quite a bit bigger and it was difficult to see where we were going.

After my nap that afternoon Mom & I baked some cookies to celebrate... that it was... er... I guess that it was a Sunday? I mean, Mom's birthday was the day before and Grandpa Herbert's was the next day so I guess we were just worried about going a day without some empty calories? NOT IN THIS HOUSE!

That night we went over to G&G H's to celebrate Mom & GpaH's birthdays.
GpaH looked like he needed some help opening his presents so naturally, I was called in. I'm AWESOME at opening presents that come in bags where the goal is reached by simply removing the tissue paper. Actual wrapping paper is a bit trickier and don't get me started on tape. Ugh, that stuff's the worst. Hey, who's ready for Christmas?!?!

Man, who knew fake smiling could be so difficult?

I think the gift of the night was definitely the blue shirt we got GpaH (almost visible above.) I KNEW riffling through his closet for gift ideas would pay off!

To wrap the night up we had cake and ice cream. And fire. Fascinating, fascinating fire.

Happy Birthday Dear Momma

Saturday the fifth was Mom's birthday and here present was to be... present at tumbling with me.

This kid's mom sent him to tumbling with an iPhone. It looks like Bejeweled is giving him an incredible workout. Parents of the year!

After gym class we stopped by Le Peep... where there was a 30 minute wait so we rolled up to Einstein Bagel.

I spent that night with Grandma & Grandpa Davenport but not before we joined M&D, Aunt Darcy, Uncle Dave, the Kansas City Kaczmarczyks (KCK - HA!) and the Ludlow's at Johnny's Antioch.
Maddie brought a toy phone that I borrowed to make long distance phone calls and also called GmaD a few times.
After all my calls, GmaD and I played a little sticker book.
Then it must have half time of the KSU v OSU football game because Dad and I did a little playing too.

THEN IT WAS TIME FOR CAKE! (thanks UD) I was a little surprised that Dad let me have some cake but since I was spending the night with G&G D, I guess it was just gonna be someone else's problem!

Happy Birthday Mom!

Here are some picks from Maddie's post (published weeks ago). Enjoy!
