All I Want for Christmas...

As you well know, I'm way behind on my blogging so in an effort to catch up (a little) I've had to jam more than 50 pictures into this one post. Take a deep breath and enjoy!

On Thanksgiving morning Aunt Abby and Uncle Scott came over for brunch and as most of this winter has been, the weather was really mild. I even cajoled AA & Dad into spending a little time outside and got away with just a light coat. LOVE IT!

That night we went over to Greats Aunt Nancy & Uncle John's for Thanksgiving dinner along with Aunt Darcy, Uncle Dave, Uncle Tim, his friend Caitlin, Aunt Kelly, Uncle Mathieu, Uncle Scott (Davenport), Greats Uncle Todd & Aunt Dominique, Great Uncle Frank, Great Grandma Davenport, Grandma & Grandpa Davenport. I'm already exhausted and this is just the second picture...
Dinner was delicious but since my average dinner consists of about four bites these days, I didn't eat too much. What, you think I'm going to fill up on turkey when there's PIE! Ha, that's a rookie mistake!
I don't know what sparked it but at some point I was just passing out hugs. Ah, the center of attention, just how I like it.
GmaD brought over some toys to keep me entertained and she was quick to volunteer to play with me.
I told GpaD that my dress had pockets so he felt obligated to fill them with dollar bills. I'm going to have to remember that ploy!
GAN&GUJ had this fun shuffle puck like game in their basement. Despite the many rounds that got played, I was never drafted as anyone's partner. Hey, the pucks are small, my fingers are small - seemed like a natural fit to me!

The next day we had another family dinner planned and GmaD wanted to make some dessert. Given all my baking experience (and her lack of successful baking experience) I volunteered to help.
Don't worry, it's supposed to be that color; we were making red velvet cupcakes!
And while they baked, GpaD and I enjoyed some Cheerios. Is there ever a time when Cheerios aren't the answer?
That night AD&UD hosted dinner for the crew and while there was a lull in the action, a rotating crew helped me decorate the cupcakes. I was on raspberry duty - AND I CRUSHED IT!
The next morning, M&D and I had breakfast with GUF, AD&UD, G&G D at Mimi's. As you can see, GpaD noticed I had empty pocket again.
After breakfast I think I entered the twilight zone because M&D took me Christmas shopping at Toys R Us ON BLACK SATURDAY (if that's a thing.) That place was a mad house... and totally awesome.
It was confusing though because while I was ready to drive one of these babies off the lot, M&D insisted we were "only shopping." I'm not really sure why that mattered though because I go "shopping" with GmaD all the time and we walk away with our arms full. Where's the fable M&D?

That night we put up our Christmas tree and decorations. I had a blast "helping" Mom hang ornaments on the bottom half of the tree, then re-hang the same ornaments, then re-hang the same ornaments again. In other words, I was a little indecisive. I am my mother's daughter!

I was pretty stoked to see the Advent Calendar hanging back up again.

The next night we went to KU's Holiday Vespers concert with Dr. & Mrs Gordon, Grandma & Grandpa Herbert at Yardley Hall.
I was pretty disappointed that the piano was only around for one tune but I was stoked when it got to the sing-a-long part. Also, Yardley Hall at JCCC has some SICK leg room which allowed me to move from person to person AND get my holiday groove on. Five points YH!
Things did wane toward the end however and when M&D saw an opening, they swooped me up and hit an exit in the back of the theater. I was bummed to go but felt really bad for the peeps behind us who just watched their entertainment up and leave!
Advent Day 2:

As we wrapped things up that night I pulled a little stall tactic before bed and dragged Giant Cookie Monster into M&D's room. It's worked for a bit but then GCM got hungry and bailed. Where's the fable GCM?

Dad and I hit up tumbling the next day and I donned one of my new leotards and totally crushed tumbling.
And when we got home, we hit up the Advent Day 3:

The next day we had brunch with AA, G&G H at First Watch Corinth Square but before we did we helped G&G H pick out this year's tree. Perhaps the best tree ever.

Advent Day 4:
HALLOWEEN STICKERS (clearly I'm not that picky!)

Cute pictures of my sisters. Love them!

That night Dad and I played some legos together. I told him he could build an Elephant, a Tiger or a dog. Dad opted for an elephant while I built a tire. Yes, I know it's not great and doesn't look anything like what you were expecting but if you really use your imagination you can see an elephant in there somewhere. Give my ol' man a break will ya?

The next day GmaH picked me up from Ms Anne's and I helped G&G H decorate their awesome tree. And naturally I totally ROCKED the bottom third of that bad boy!

Advent Day 5:

Remember, you can't take it with you, but you can lick it so no one else can take it when you're gone.

Until Later,
