Great Expectations

We woke up rather early on Saturday, December 10.
It was time for the annual Nordstrom Santa Breakfast. If you recall, two years ago we visited Santa at the Bass Pro Shop. I looked pretty calm in that picture but FREAKED OUT shortly afterward. Last year was year one at Nordstrom but that time I FREAKED OUT before I even got out of my stroller and had to be dragged over to Santa with a Mom escort. This year? A cake walk. Much like they did for a Dr. Appt a while back and my first Dentist Appt, M&D set expectations and told me exactly what to expect. The result? I even gave him a hug!
When he asked what I wanted for Christmas, I said, "STICKERS!" When he asked how many I told him, "two." My parents are SO LUCKY!

While we were at breakfast, a roving magician stopped by and entertained our table for a few minutes. He spotted Grandma Herbert as... "mark" if you will. He was able to take GmaH's watch right off her wrist with her being none the wiser. It was awesome. When he ran into us later, he stopped by for a chat and a bit more slight of hand and I can tell you this, GmaH didn't losen the grip on her purse for even a second!

As the morning's festivities were winding down, we had to decide if the last activity was going to be face painting or a balloon animal. Oh, and when I say "we" had to decide, I meant Dad had to decide and I'm sure you could have guessed which route he chose. BOO!
I did get a new little froggy out of the deal though, which is nice.
Actually, this has me thinking... where is that guy...?

That afternoon we headed over Maddie's for the Ludlow's Christmas party. There was a kid's gift exchange too and I was primed!
When we got over there I was happy to see Maddie, Evan, Jack, Amelia and Mason.
This guy is like Fridge Farm but with letters. Letters! So... many...pieces...

We got home late but still managed to squeeze in some advent calendar. More money for college STICKERS!

Remember, you can't take it with you, but you can lick it so no one else can take it when you're gone.

Until Later,
Avery
