Fowl Foul

Saturday the 11th (happy Bday Grandma Herbert) was our first full day in Florida. We started off with breakfast at the Galley Grille Nauti Dog which is a fun little restaurant at the Lighthouse Point Marina.
And since ND is at the marina, that means it's surrounded by water so when we were done eating, Grandma Davenport and I walked down the dock and sat on some benches looking out over the canal. It was particularly enjoyable knowing Kansas City was experiencing 13 degree weather with a windchill below 0 (-0.9 but it still counts.)

One of my favorite parts about being near the water are the waterfowl (one word - huh, who knew?) Aunt Darcy may hate birds but I enjoy them, especially ones I don't get to see in KC. The pelican in the foreground had something in it's mouth (aka throat pouch) and the other guy tried to steal it. The bounty was successfully defended but after seeing the poor fellow struggle trying to swallow it, we're pretty sure what he actually had was a compact disk and not a fish. Ugh, people are the worst.

After sitting on the dock for a short while we headed home to chill a bit. What is it about being out in the fresh air that makes me so sleepy?

For dinner that night we ate at Piranha Pat's Flanigan's. Grandpa Davenport ordered a delicious appetizer called dolphin fingers. I'm not sure what it was but it was fried and it was delicious!

When we got home I regaled everyone with some singing and piano playing. As evident by Uncle Dave sleeping in the background, I must have been a huge hit!
Remember, you can't take it with you, but you can lick it so no one else can take it when you're gone.

Until Later,
