Corporal Punishment

Mom had printing to do on the 10th so Dad and I made dinner plans with Grandpa Davenport.
We ate at Longhorn Steakhouse which was fine and good but I have to share a little story. I cut myself on the kids menu (wicked paper cut) and when our server found out, she came back with the manager and A BANDAID! It was a gigantic blue bandaid that nearly wrapped all the way around my hand but magically, it did the trick and I forgot all about my boo-boo after that. Pretty nice.

After dinner the three of us headed out to College Boulevard Activity Center to visit Grandma Davenport and her friend Ms Shelly. They were selling tickets to a girls' soccer game which meant two things - I got to see a lot of girls with pretty hair bows and I had easy access to a STAMP!!!
Of course, I'm not the sort of person that abuses power like that but I did... what's one step below abuse? Reprimand? Rebuke? Anyway, I got a lot of stamps.
I will say that stamps on one's palm are not long for this world but that didn't stop me from going back for one on my other hand too!

After a bit, MS gave GmaD the okay to play with GpaD and Me so we hit the bleachers and watched a bit of the game. I don't know a ton about soccer but the Blue Valley team (who cares which one) could barley broach Olathe East's side of the field. It was a good old fashion pant down spanking... Which I'm happy to so I have yet to experience myself!

P.S. Happy 5th birthday to my sister Penny. She's an awesome big sister and I hope I'm half as tolerant towards my little sister as she is towards me.

Mayo Goodness

My cousins Jamie & Grayson came for a visit over Cinco de Mayo though I'm not sure their visit was necessarily related to the "Mexican Army's unlikely victory" over the French at Puebla.
Uncle Charlie also invited over some friends of his that have a daughter, Nora, that's my age. It was nice to have another girl there to even the odds a little.

I haven't seen J&G for awhile and it was fun to see Grayson with a few more months under his belt. Babies are cute and all but they're a lot more fun when they're up and moving around.

Since the whole Herbert family was in town we decided to celebrate Aunt Abby's birthday a little early.
I love cake and I'm fascinated by fire so anytime I can get a bit of both, I'm all in favor!!

Color Wonders

I spent Friday the 4th over at Grandma & Grandpa Herbert's. The weather was really nice so we did some planting outside and after my nap, G&G H and I did a little art project. GmaH had these little DIY ornaments that we got paint and when you hang them in the window, they sun shines through them - a al mini stained glass. It was a lot of fun and I'm happy to say I didn't do any permanent paint damage to their kitchen table with my paints. Probably.

Everything Nice

Grandma Herbert picked me up from Miss Anne's on the 3rd and somehow we ended up at Nordstrom. Funny how that works sometimes.
We went to have dinner along with Grandpa Herbert, Ms. Joanie and Mom.
I'm sure you're thinking, "what a nice photo this is" but that's only because we got this one out of the way first. I'm not all sugar and spice!

As we were finishing up, Grandma Davenport, Aunt Darcy & Uncle Dave showed up. You're shocked right?
Oops. Okay, so I don't have any proof but my word is good right? Oh, well, I do like to tell "stories" but this isn't one of them... probably.

Brace Yourself

On May 1st Dad and I had a Dentist appointment.
Just like last time, they went through the whole process of poking and prodding followed by a full cleaning. This time however, I got to wear some sweet glasses to keep the light out of my eyes. Heady eh?
I was doing so well that they decided to try and get some X-Rays as well.
How much do I love technology? The red thing in my mouth hooks up to wifi to transfer the images to the computer immediately.
They actually printed out my X-Rays so I could share them with you all. Keep in mind these are from a printer then scanned then uploaded so the quality isn't perfect but you get a pretty good view.
The ones above are my top teeth (how convenient) and it's hard to tell but my right front tooth is overlapping with my right lateral incisor. Translation: $$$$$$
One of my bottom front teeth is actually just a hair loose and you can see why. Getting a little pressure already I guess. And look how huge my adult teeth look. I hope I grow into those things or I'm gonna look out right goofy!

Since I was still doing so well, they took some more pics with a little camera inside my mouth.
Lookin' good!

It was Dad's turn next and as luck would have it, we had just picked up a new Disney Princess coloring sheet from Target to keep me busy. It worked for about 80% of the time and for the other 20% I got up close and personal to watch Dad's cleaning. His took a LOT longer. Something about flossing and coffee but I wasn't really paying attention.

Balloon Animals

On Sunday the 29th I got up early with Grandma & Grandpa Davenport and we met Aunt Darcy, Uncle Dave and Dad at First Watch Shoppes at Corporate Woods for breakfast.
It was raining when we left so I broke out the Hello Kitty umbrella that Aunt Kelly got me for my birthday.

While the rain gave me a good reason to use my umbrella, it also threw a huge wrench in the birthday party David & Margot were having to celebrate their 3rd. What was supposed to go down at a nearby park got redirected indoors instead. You might think cramming a much of kids indoors would turn out poorly but things pretty much work themselves out when you also include a few hundred balloons.
SO MUCH FUN!

Monday was pretty average until after school when we went out front to play with my scooter. I don't remember why I brought my microphone outside but it prooved handy when it came time for Dad to do a play by play of my scooter race. I think my favorite part is when I make Dad acknowledge a bird in our yard.

Tumbling Dice

The 28th wasn't overly busy so when Mom & Dad put me down for a nap, they had to know it wasn't going to go well.
After about two hours of "napping" Dad came upstairs to find me on the floor with all the toys I could find. You can't tell by this pic but the lights were actually out and I was busy reading... a coloring book. Not coloring. Reading. Good stuff.

I think since I was on zero hours of nap time, M&D were worried that I wouldn't be in the best of moods so they decided to go see a movie and dump me on Grandma & Grandpa Davenport. Despite what M&D thought, I was in fine enough mood so G&G D and I called Aunt Darcy for dinner and we headed to Sutera's even though we didn't have a reservation.
As luck would have it, AD and I were both wearing our Sperry Topsiders. Are we cute or what?

Up to the Highest Height

The 27th was a Friday so I got to spend the day with Grandma and Grandpa Herbert. After a healthy breakfast the three of us headed out back to play with A NEW KITE!
It was a perfect day for kiting and after a test run in the backyard, we headed out to a park to get some real air!
As you can see, with a little help from GpaH, I totally crushed kiting. I can't wait until our next windy day because I got a new Disney Princess kite and I'm dying to see what she can do!

The Need for Speed

Mom had some printing to do on the 26th so Dad and I were on our own for dinner. Grandpa Davenport was on his own too so we met up at Ruby Tuesday.
When we got home it was still light out so I asked Dad if I could play outside a bit. He obliged and rather than watch me NOT pedal my trike, he and Mom got out the new scooter I got for my birthday from my cousins Jamie and Grayson. Unlike pedaling, I picked it up pretty quick... except for the breaking part. I haven't quite figured that out so my current method of stopping is essentially to just bail out. Hey, it worked for Maverick... not Goose so much but who wants to be married to Meg Ryan anyway?

Comb. Over.

Mark your calendars! April 25th was the first time in my 3+ years of existence that Dad combed my hair before taking me to Miss Anne's. I'm sure this thrilled some but combing out my curls HURTS and I'm not sure I want it to be a daily occurrence... and it hasn't happened again since so I think we're okay!

After school Dad and I did some playing out front while Mom went to get her haircut. After a bit, my neighbor and buddy Thomas stopped over to play.
I'm still not any good at pedaling so Dad asked Thomas to show me how it's done because he's really good at it. Still no luck for me though. There's gotta be an easier way to get around, right?

When Mom got done with her haircut we headed out to grab a bite at (a nearly empty) Mimi's Cafe. The service was surprisingly good though and at the end of dinner I got an Oreo Mud Pie complete with real (gummy) worm. The worm magically disappeared when I wasn't looking but the dirt was delicious!

It Wasn't Me

On 4/23 Mom and I were on our own so we broke out the crafts.
Dad thinks letting me play with play-doh is crazy but when the mouse is away, Kat and I will play! Okay, calling Mom Kat is a little informal but we're best friends so I can take the liberty every once in a while right?

In addition to said worm, we also created a happy little cat. Cats don't eat worms do they...?

On the 24th Grandma & Grandpa Herbert and I went to the Kauffman Center for a special organ concert featuring my buddy Mr. Diebold!

I'm sure you remember back in December (... blogged about in January) when Aunt Darcy took us to the KC to see the Texas Tenors that I pondered what it would be like to see MD "light up that bad boy?"
Well, I must be living right because I got my wish and it was every bit as good as I could have hoped!

I'm innocent!
I'm innocent because to get my actual print on the wall requires $1,000 donation. Um... is there a payment plan because my income is limited... to the number of times I see Grandpa Davenport in a month.

Remember, you can't take it with you, but you can lick it so no one else can take it when you're gone.
