Seems Like a Lot

When I log into Blogger and go to the Post List, I'm greeted with the image above. That's right, my last post of 2011 was #500 and this is the 100th post this year. A post every two days this year? Pretty close and even more frequently when you consider I started on 5/26/09 (1162 days ago.) HOW AM I STILL OVER A MONTH BEHIND?!?! AHHHH! GO!

Sunday, June 24th was like most other Sundays in that I went to church with Grandma & Grandpa Herbert. But this Sunday differed from most in two ways: Mom tagged along and there was an Ice Cream Social... though I had a hot dog so maybe it was more of a picnic.

There was an incredible balloon artist there whose hands were faster than my eyes and in no time he whipped up this bunny. It was VERY impressive.
After adopting a balloon animal, we ran into these two sisters who were sharing rub on tattoos. The older one was eight or so and was my resident tattoo artist. She explained exactly how it worked and I was thrilled to find out there were no needles involved!

This isn't exactly the best picture... of the elephant balloon animal hat in the top right corner but you can imagine how cute it is!
Okay, I'm only kidding, sharp picture G&G H!

We had dinner the night before to celebrate Aunt Darcy's Birthday but we wanted to see her on the actual day too so even though Mom and I already ate, we picked up Dad and joined AD, Uncle Dave, Grandma & Grandpa Davenport at Blanc Burger.
I gnashed on some fries and split a shake with Mom while I waited for everyone else to finish eating so I could make rounds.

That night we ate at home and Mom and I decided to try making English Muffin Pizzas.
I wouldn't recommend 'em. I don't normally consider English Muffins to be sweet but these were and did NOT mix well with the pizza sauce. Fun to make but really, really medium.

This video is from 6/20 so it should have started yesterday's post off but it's a month old and I forgot I uploaded it. It's almost like one should blog 4 weeks in arrears. What?

June 22nd was a Friday so I spent the day with Grandma & Grandpa Herbert. Mom & Dad were going to the Royals game that night so I had to bring an overnight bag and since I have dance Saturday mornings, I had to bring my dance bag as well (aka: Tippy Toad.) Okay, I get that but why did I have to carry both??? Thanks for the help Dad!

After some breakfast but before lunch, the three of us headed over to the park for some playing. I love this slide because of it's shape which also makes this picture particular entertaining. GpaH had no idea when I was coming so he had to peak around the corner - then I got to sneak up on him!

We went for another stroll around dinner time as well. One reason I love spending so much time with my grandparents? THEY AREN'T AFRAID TO GO OUTDOORS!

For breakfast G&G H and I met M&D at First Watch Shoppes at Corporate Woods. And for good measure we met up with Aunt Darcy, Uncle Dave, Grandma & Grandpa Davenport. FUN!

Here's me at Dance class. In case you're wondering, I'm the one right next to the teacher... in both pics... and for pretty much the entire hour.
That night M&D and I met AD, UD, G&G D for dinner at Bonefish Grill to celebrate Aunt Darcy's birthday dinner (a day early!)
While we waited for our table at the bar, the bartender gave me a glow stick... with Hpnotiq written on it. Feel free to google that on your own time.

Once seated, Dad broke out some stickers and GmaD and I got busy playing. Pretty fun use of these stickers eh?

Dad encouraged me to sign and decorate AD's bday card myself. I did all of this though full disclosure, Dad did have to draw a few of the letters (_UNT D__C_) or in other words, the ones that aren't in my name too! Still, not bad for a three year old!
Also, on the bottom right of the inside is my drawing of the peanut. I assume it's pretty accurate.

When we were done eating I went to sit with GpaD and AD and as luck would have it, I was just in time for her birthday cake!

When we got outside I gave AD a gift that I picked out (it's was my #2 choice after a Star Spangled Banner Flag which Target had zero of, in any fashion... two weeks before INDEPENDENCE DAY!)

Dance Floor Drama

On Thursday the 21st, Mom & Dad and I went to the Thursday Night Free Concert at Park Place.
As you can see, they dressed me in a Waldo-esque outfit to help make me easier to find. Wait... wasn't waldo hard to find? Can you find me in the pics above? (click to enlarge!)

Aunt Abby came over after work and volunteered to watch over me as I danced away from base camp. She also took some pics and video - including this one.
Two things:
  1. Notice the two girls that make appearances at the 0:18, 0:30 & 0:45 marks? Make a mental note.
  2. Notice anything odd about the... cinematography? Yes, it was taken with Dad's cell phone and for whatever reason there were a few orientation switches in mid vid. Seemingly more evidence that almost everything is genetic because we've seen Grandma Herbert and Mom take vertical videos as well. Can't wait to get my first camcorder camera cell phone video recording device (Google Glasses?)
Here's another video and this time those same two girls start to follow me around - and I don't think they look too nice while doing it!

At one point I was able to get AA out on the dance floor with me and she made a classic mistake -- she did something I loved!
She swung me around for a little bit and you guessed, I wanted to do it again... and again... and again. Here's me trying to coerce her to do it "just one more time."

AA and I had a great time and frankly I was happy to have a body guard on the dance floor to protect me against those stalkers. What was their deal?

When AA had to go I still hadn't gotten my fill of dancing so I dragged Nora up with me and it almost looks like she wanted to be there!

No worries though, as the evening wrapped up I returned to base camp where Dad made the same classic mistake AA made. AGAIN! AGAIN!
This was about the 30th flip I did that night and while it's not overly clear in the video, Dad bonked my head on his chair. Ouch! That didn't stop me though, AGAIN, AGAIN!

I spent Tuesday June 19th with Grandma Herbert and we had brunch with one of her friends, Miss Jane, at First Watch Pinnacle Village. NOTE THE SMUDGE!
After brunch GmaH and I went to the pool but after the sand debacle at the pool by her house, we rolled over to our neighborhood pool. Sand Free; Smudge-full

After the pool we had some lunch back at home and relaxed around the house.

That afternoon we helped Grandpa Herbert paint the house. It was 88 degrees out which seemed warm at the time but oh how we'd long for those temps these days (102 at 4:00 this afternoon)

From G&G H's Mom and I headed to tumbling then home to cook dinner with Dad. I really like cooking and have fun anytime M&D let me help out.
Ah, cell phone pic - smudge free!

After dinner I was doing a little dancing and Dad showed me a fun trick while he snapped a few pics - he broadcast his phone's display on the TV. I've seen plenty of videos of myself (uh, have you seen Dad's YouTube Channel?) but seeing it LIVE was even better.

Child Care

I spent Monday the 18th with Grandma Davenport and before it got too hot, we hit up the pool.
How cute is my little intertube?

After the pool we came home to cool down and have lunch with Aunt Darcy, Grandpa Davenport & Dad.
With all of the "little sister" talk going around, I've been trying to bone up on my infant care. It seems like I was an infant not so long ago but I don't really know what it took to keep me alive so I'm trying to learn all I can.

For dinner M&D and I ate at the Dodge City Distillery with G&G D. Not a bad family pic eh... except for the smudge on the lens. CAN'T WAIT to see how many pictures this impacts over the next month!

June 17th was Father's Day and we had fathers a plenty.
I started the day by going to church with Grandma & Grandpa Herbert. I'm not sure if Mr. Diebold has any kids or not but I know he has dogs which makes him a father in this family! Father Count: 1
Then of course there's GpaH. He's a father to three and a Grandfather to 5.5... but that apparently isn't enough to get me to put down my cookie for a photo opp!

After church, G&G H and I met Aunt Abby, Mom and Dad back out our house for a father's day brunch. Dad is a father to 3.5 (of course I'm counting my two older and one younger sisters) Father count: 3
Ooops, I'm told we don't have any footage of brunch - but Mom made Egg Casserole (and I think I ate more than anyone) and GmaH brought over a Strawberry Pie from Tippins. I don't know what a "Tippins" is but they know (or knew) pie, that's for sure.

For dinner we met Grandma & Grandpa Davenport for dinner over at Aunt Darcy & Uncle Dave's. GpaD is a father to three (including Aunt Lil') and a Grandfather to 5.5. Uncle Dave is a father of 1 2 now! Father count: 5
This is AD&UD's new addition, Cooper. He was very nice to my sisters and me and was always interested in whatever we were doing. I resemble that!
Here's a picture of GpaD and I while he opened the card from me. For those not in the know, I refer to GpaD as 'Pop-Pop' (and GpaH as 'Gran-Pop') and I actually found a 'Pop-Pop' card for Father's Day. And better still? It had frogs on it which of course I love as well. It may have been the most perfect card ever... so I guess it's all down hill from here.

I'm always trying to get Penny to sit and sleep with me and that evening I made room for her on my chair outside and she hopped up. I literally could not have been happier!

To help keep the bugs away, AD lit some citronella candles. Fire = Fascinating! It's like people don't know how neat fire looks because I got told a number of times not to get too close. Uh, but then I can't see as well. Where's the fable??
